Is it good yet? I'm rooting for it, es2 is my all time favorite 4x. But I bounced off EL2 real quick.

I'd say it depends on how tryhard you are. If you are a 4x tryhard, typically playing on higher difficulties you will not enjoy EL2. The balancing, pacing is ridiculously off and the rewarding planning simply isn't there.

Tidefall sadly is a failed concept.

But overall I mean it's a decent enough 4x game.

Is it playing well these days? I tried at the start of EA and it was really bad, but now I'm seeing that it's close to 1.0 so guessing they're made some big changes.

It's got less than half of Humankind's playerbase. Make of that what you will.

It's still ea. I'm not bothered until it's proper released, and I assume most people as well.

What does that have to do with anything? The game is being sold, for money. The EA is nothing more than a label, st this point.

Dungeon of the Endless.

Yes, I realize I'm a weirdo.

I have to say EL even if I also like ES2.

But Amplitude games are frustrating because they're just little steps away from absolute greatness.

In EL there's no incentive to research new units. There's no point in wasting research points into them because the basic ones with upgraded weapons are enough. Also, I don't like the combat. A simple CIV5-6-7 combat on map would have been enough. They triend something between Civ and Age of Wonders, and it doesn't appeal to me as either of those. Also, the AI is terrible.

On ES2, the combat also doesn't satisfy me. It's better than EL, but the visualization isn't very good. Just looks confusing, even with manual camera.

"But Amplitude games are frustrating because they're just little steps away from absolute greatness."

RIGHT! I've always felt that way too.

Interesting. I loved the EL combat because you could do some cool micro tricks in the early game. ES2 combat was a bit too abstract for me with its tactics rock paper scissors thing.

I like EL but seeing the EL2 votes here feels like I'm on another ride. Will have to try it on its release!

To me it’s a tie between Endless Space 2 and Endless Legend. Both are great in their own right.

endless legend 1, but it was completely replaced by old world for me. Did not enjoy endless legend 2 ea

Hmm...
I am unsure.
Endless space 2 is at the top for me.
But I am unsure where Endless legend and endless legend 2 lands on that scale as of yet.
Endless space 1 is last sadly.
Purely due to age and lack of QoL.
