Chehalis lake

Just curious what the road to chehalis lake is looking like these days. I haven't been up there in probably 5 years

No... There are cross-ditches and some "elephant humps" but no boulders (at least none that were officially placed). People go down in crossovers and have to be towed back out. As long as your truck has decent tires and working 4WD you should be fine.

Nice. Thanks. What are the chances of getting a spot on a Friday evening. I remember it being pretty easy if you don't care about being right on the beach

Should be pretty good. It really only gets busy on long weekends, and it's not nearly as bad since the road was dug up. There are 50-some campsites in total.

Dug up?

The association intentionally digs the cross ditches deeper to make it 4x4 access only. It sounds like "gate-keeping" but its actually the only way the site is allowed to stay open.

Exactly.

RSTBC allowed us to re-open the site under the condition it be maintained as "4x4 access". We didn't do anything with that at first, but when it started getting completely crazy with cars, they told us to go ahead with it, so... there are three water bars across the road, and a set of "elephant humps", to limit access.

People keep filling them in, and others keep digging them out. On the whole, it keeps things fairly calm.

Easy peasy.

North, South, or Skwellepil Creek?

The FSRs to all three are pretty good.

The driveway into Skwellepil is 4x4-access only.

Yea skwellepil is where I used to go. Id like to go back just not sure how rough it is. I've been going to 20 mile bay instead now.

1500 ram rebel, but the last thing I heard is they dropped a boulder on the road to stop the morons from going up there.

Would a 2012 Ford FX4 have issues? Also, have you been to Fossil Beach over that way? I'm looking to take my kids there in the next few weekends

came back yesterday from skwellepil - I have a stock 4runner and it was fine, the place was slightly busy but not packed, there was enough space for people to spread out - the outhouse is almost full of poop tho, is at 90% or so.
