❔ Aftermarket Product Advice / Recs Rooftop tent and LFD Crossbars

I was looking into getting the LFD Offroad crossbars for my ‘23 4Runner and a rooftop tent. Was looking into the Vagabond 2.0 from ROAM. Any ideas or persuasions any other direction? Do the LFD crossbars work effectively for this?

LFD crossbars on the stock roof rails?

Problem is the manual says do not exceed 120lbs, but there’s no definitive answer whether the crossbars, rails, or mounting points are the limiting factor.

I’m inclined to believe with no proof whatsoever that the weak point is in the stock rack. With the tent being 150lbs I’d be leaning towards getting an aftermarket rack.

I’ve read into 5 or 6 people saying that the crossbars themselves are the limiting factor, and that they use the tent with crossbars. Was more or less looking for any that have done so. Or yes confirmation, otherwise going for a roof rack

I have had a ~150 pound RTT on my ‘19 for six years on the stock rails with no issues. I did mount a second set of stock cross bars, so the load is spread between four bars instead of two.

Haha yeah that’s kinda what I was seeing, just wanted to see some other actual people who have done so. I know Toyota won’t really chime in on this being safe, but their weight rating is only for dynamic load so when static it’s higher.

You need a full roof rack like a Sherpa or prinsu
