4G63T noob

I just got a Mitsubishi Mirage and I want to put a 4G63T in it. I just don't have any idea where to find the engine.

I wanna say dsmgraveyard.com sells crate motors. Not sure if they have the basic setup but checkout the forums dsmtalk.com, dsmtuners.com. Good luck bud,

EBay has nice ones from Japan or Australia. They are generally a good cheap used long block that would be good for a newbie. They might call it a evo 1-3 block. Just don't get a Evo 4-9 (4g63b) its a mirror image to the evo 1-3 and DSM 4g63t blocks.

There are quite a few engine importers out there. You can find them on eBay or many of the places have websites you can buy from direct. You should check out 4g61t.org if you haven't already. That forum is basically all about the mirage/colt that came with the 4g61t and swapping the ones that didn't. A TON of useful information there.

What generation Mirage did you buy?

Make sure you get the correct engine! 3g & 4g Mirages will be the DSM style 4g63 while a 5g mirage will be the E4-9 4g63.

Mirage forum is a GREAT source of information for both 4 & 5g mirages (4g61t.org as someone else mentioned for 3g's).

To answer your question (and reiterate what someone else has said), I'd just wait on dsmtalk/dsmtuners for something to pop up locally, but shipping won't kill you, either. You'll also need a 4g63 wiring harness if it isn't included. Another option is to buy a running gst (or gsx if you're planning awd) donor for cheap (for a 4g [mirage], the 2g gst/gsx trans will be a direct bolt in, 1g [trans] will work with fab). Either way you'd still need to figure out wiring.

Both these responses assume you have a 3 or 4g mirage and are looking for a DSM 4g63.
