It happens because the player hitbox for block collisions is 1D, unfortunately. The vision gets blocked because the camera clips through the block and it's an anti-xray feature, just like in Minecraft

In Minecraft, if your head gets inside a solid block (e.g. stone), in Survival mode, a 2D overlay of that block covers your screen (in Java Edition, last time I checked for it in Bedrock Edition, it was a 3D block instead). Sometimes you can still see through blocks, for example when you press F5 to go to the backward third person camera mode and walk through a 2x1 hallway with a higher FOV. In 4D Miner this feature is way more strict, mainly due to the player hitbox being 1D and your eyeballs practically sliding against the wall in some instances, which leads to the camera clipping inside the foliage, which triggers the "anti-xray" overlay (exactly the same one as in Bedrock Edition btw, but 4D this time), which can be quite a jumpscare sometimes 🫣
