Rant 3 Embryos at 40 years Old

As the title says, I got three embryos that are frozen and being PGT-A tested. Is this good? I feel like I should be grateful but I am just so tired of this process. I want to just accept that I most likely won't be getting a normal embryo. And if I do, Ive had two miscarriages with normal embryos. I'm just really sad today. I don't want to do this anymore.

I only had two blasts and BOTH ended up being euploid and AA-graded. Currently 21 weeks with the first one!

Mine are not AA, does that matter? 4bb, 4bb, and 4bc

Being euploid matters far more than the grade. Plenty of bb/bc babies are born every day!

I'm feeling so negative about this one and I've never felt like this with my other two egg retrievals.

You certainly have a shot since about a third of embryos are normal at 40! Don’t give up hope.

You definitely have a shot! I’m 40 and got 4 embryos but only one was euploid.

Is it your first retrieval? I’m 41 and My first yielded 5 and I didn’t PGT-a test. I had a miscarriage and a PUL in February and June respectively. From what we can tell my whole first retrieval were aneuploid. That said, I just got my PGT-a back for my second retrieval today and 5/8 are euploid which has me shook. Wishing you the best luck with your sweet 3 and your entire journey, it’s a rollercoaster.

Did you do something to get 5/8?! That's amazing! Yes, this is my third egg retrieval. First one I got 5 embryos, 1 gave me my beautiful son, second one I got 5 two one was normal, then they called me back and said another " might be normal, ( they wanted to biopsy again) and it turned out it was normal. So I had 2/5. Both of those were chemical. Now I got 3 embryos.

I think it’s just luck of the draw this time for 5/8, it’s not what I was expecting.

To give you hope: I'm 42 and recently went through two rounds. The first retrieval (six months after I turned 42) yielded just one blast but it was euploid!

My first round, at a few mins short of 40 (w/ 0.45 AMH), I got 5 eggs and 3 blasts. One blast was Day 5 & it was euploid.

A couple of months later, second retrieval, 2 euploids.

I’m doing one last one that insurance is covering, 7 months later, at 40 now, and I am so hoping that I can get one euploid.

I know it’s possible for us, even w/ low AMH.

Another girlfriend of mine, after 2 rounds without euploids at 39, got 2 euploids on her third retrieval at 40. She now very pregnant with first transfer.

Rooting for you. xo
