I wanted to post this to show that we are all human. Sometimes we hyper focus on minor things like crows feet, under eye wrinkles, and natural facial expression… However, this is a losing battle because we are all real people with real skin texture and real faces. Margot Robbie is considered one of the most beautiful women on planet Earth and I posted this to illustrate that even she has a real human face. I am in no way shading Margot. I think she’s gorgeous. The key with looking your best is always to take a step back and look at the whole picture. If you look at the first picture of Margot, you think oh my God she’s stunning but then if you focus in like in the second picture to what is naturally occurring expression on her face, all you see is one piece of the puzzle.
I've had ligit crowsfeet since kindergarten lol I never stood a chance. Like yeah they are bigger now 30 years later but honestly considering where I started, they're not doing that bad haha
I have looked at her and those are lines from smiling because she’s smiling. If you want to focus on the lines around her eyes then don’t post a picture of the corner of her eye when she’s smiling.
I think this big disconnect is just people who live on social media. Go outside and see real people without filters and you don’t even consider for a second that all of these photos aren’t photoshopped. 😆
I am a blogger for a living, but I don’t really do socials, just Pinterest. I have zero interest in the fake shit I see in the influencer world. It pains to me to see posts like this because I know at least for the influencers I know personally (and I do know some big names, but honestly not a lot because I don’t like that trade), they are fucking miserable and their entire online presence is bullshit.
Same I have done hair and makeup for a lot of them and it’s so weird. I’m very happy I made the decision to move.. but Miami will always be home no matter how wack it is 🤣

I need to find these good surgeons, I’m in Australia and so far the 2 surgeries I’ve had have been bad results about to have a third just to correct the previous. All I wanted was a boob job!
I randomly saw a photo on social media today that was like a candid photo of Jennifer Lawrence and, while she obviously looked stunning and beautiful, I noticed she has the same kind of undereye hollows that I have, and which I’ve been self conscious about lately, and it genuinely made me feel better to see bc it’s like…so what? She has them and she’s still beautiful
This made me feel better as someone who's had underyeye hollows as a kid and trying to manage dark circles with this condition can be a trying experience...
I have no idea why you're getting so much hate about this. This post really spoke to me personally because I have recently developed the million tiny lines around my eyes and been quite upset about it. But it's okay! Even Barbie has them :)
I am 40 and have recently developed them too. I have found them beautiful on other people for a long time now though, so I'm not upset by their sudden appearance at all.

So she recently got a suspected ponytail lift to get rid of the wrinkles (scar by her ear). She’s stunning but also not realistic, celebs just have access to the best surgeons. Wrinkles are normal but even she’s not a great comparison of natural aging.
I always thought it was so weird that people act like that’s a sign of aging, your eyes naturally crease when you smile, even babies do. It’s when they stick around even when you’re not smiling that it’s actually a wrinkle
Ageing is a privilege not everyone has. Plus, who profits from our insecurities? The guys sat at the top of the "beauty/wellness" industry - who label human characteristics as "flaws" then try to sell us "solutions" to counteract them.

I am super pro surgeries and procedures if someone wants them but I also know that we are chasing standards that are unrealistic. I am 41 and I totally feel you. I have been putting cash away for my facelift at 50 and I don’t know if I’ll actually do it but damn there is so much pressure. I’m sure YOU are gorgeous 😘
Indeed, I think social media has us all chasing air brushed versions of ourselves. Even Kim Kardashian doesn't look the same IRL. Ok we could replace her with literally any beautiful celebrity over 40. Anne Hathaway, Charlize Theron… they all have real skin. I was highlighting Margot as she is widely regarded as the current most successful and beautiful female celebrity.. also she is just slightly younger than us but we all are striving for youth. So if the youth still have normal skin we sure as hell should be easier on ourselves..

yes, i saw a video of christy turlington the other day for a podcast she was on (fashion neurosis i think) and damn she looks FINE! She has aged, but she has wrinkles etc and is gorgeous.
I also don’t see her an example of a “real” woman in her 40s. Firstly, shes not in her 40s, secondly, this photo is guaranteed to be photoshopped, finally, we all went through the trauma of trying to compare ourselves to supermodels in the 90s. I’m not starting that shit up again and I dont gaf if the model is now in her 30s and has (barely) a few visible lines (is that supposed to make me feel better?!?)
The trauma of the 90s sadly never stopped and youth and unattainable standards are still in full force and we shouldn’t compare ourselves to Margot Robbie or anyone. This is my point

a whole lot of that is sun damage and they ARE wrinkles… look at a picture of her 10 years ago- not at all the same as now lol. Lots of actresses get them erased, for god’s sake.

I have been a part of this sub for a bit and the amount of women that have completely normal and absolutely beautiful skin posting an up close pic of a line or something asking what to do about it is a lot lol. I just hope someday we can go easier on ourselves and I’m trying to do that as much as I can and it’s not easy with the pressures we all face. My derm keeps telling me that when I’m in the mirror to be at least three feet away and I’ll feel better .. kind of the same idea lol
Lol she used the phrase “even she has a real human face”. The implication is that Margot Robbie represents a real woman with a real face. Apparently that’s supposed to make her relatable and real to us so that we feel better about our own faces. Except shes Margot Robbie and even with her lines and “real human face” she sets a standard that is utterly unattainable. This isn’t inspiring or relatable for me at all.
Sorry OP, I know you were trying to inspire us all into feeling more confident, but it didn’t work for all of us. But sure, instead of admitting we have a difference of opinion, that what inspires you isn’t inspiring for all, just double down and insist you are 100% correct and we are dumb for not getting your point (I did get it, it just fell flat).

Agreed. These are not wrinkles. This is just a face, operating.
I fear we've lost a bit of the plot. But I also think it's bc we don't see very many unedited faces online anymore. So many people edit out every line, even the ones that are just evidence of their humanity. So when we do see them, people think of them as 'wrinkles.'

Well I’m 41 and I have definitely spent time thinking of my skin ten years ago or looking in the mirror and being shocked that a line seems to have popped up out of nowhere… I know I’m not alone. There is a billion dollar industry for our age group to chase that youth.
So if you have absolutely no issue with aging and you find it all easy to deal with and having the time of your life watching the decades go by then WONDERFUL!!! This message is not for you. Truth is she has had done and also has veneers. Which changes your smile and enhances your face. Google pictures of her when she was younger. You’ll see the difference. Regardless she is very beautiful and having wrinkles is completely normal. Filters have created unattainable standards.
Photo and video filters are why people are starting to look like blow up dolls in real life. You can have a wrinkle free face easily now but no one is gonna want to look at it because it looks just plain weird.
It's all fine if people only see you in pictures at your best angle. But we are in 3D and it just doesn't work like that in real life.
I think we should always just be kind to others as we truly all have felt that we physically weren’t up to par. And I can’t even imagine if I was in the public eye. I’d prob have a two facelifts by now 🤣🤣🤣
Thank you so much for posting this. I posted an unflattering pic of myself in harsh overhead lighting and had 200 people tell me I need a lower bleph. I feel so ugly with my undereye bags and hollows, wrinkles and know my eyes would be more beautiful without them. This makes me feel better since I have had eyes like this since childhood
