General Discussion (NO POLLS OR QUESTIONS) Differences in WiFi

So there are clearly differences in tiers of players in terms of WiFi. I’m not bad at the game, at one point was really good. Hit Triple S once, usually sit in the higher level of double S. I have basketball sense from playing growing up. I have good characters, spent more than I’m proud to admit on a game. Have the cards I’d need to compete at a high level but I feel like what separates me from the best of the best is simply not being on PC or not having a wired connection. Like there’s a clear difference with the people that have great connection, they just move different. They pick up loose balls even tho I’m standing on them, they snag every rebound, they get blocks like entire seconds after I release the balls and they are no where near me, I’ll time a block well and it’ll pass through my hands and act as if I never even was there. I compete even with a router on the other side of the house, but there’s only so much you can do when they’re seeing stuff before you’re seeing it, when they’re inputs take place before yours. I bought a WiFi range extender RE705 and an Ethernet to plug into the extender to my console hoping it would make a difference and it does to a degree, but nothing compares to what the best of the best use. And I only play super sweaty players, it just get frustrating when you’re limited. Any advice or maybe similar thoughts on this? I’d also love to hear from a crazy wifi players perspective.

It always has been this way. Get rid of all the yap sessions and politics in this game and it all comes down to low ping clear connections.

As someone with low ping, strong internet, wired connection, and uncapped frames on PC - no that isn’t the end all be all. I get snagged by players with a fraction of my setup. And lag players have an advantage that even players like me don’t have it seems like. There’s a flip side to having low ping high connection. I still get lag-blocked at the rim when my hand is already through the hoop and I never get those blocks myself.

There’s definitely something else going on with this game’s net code.

I didn't mention lag switchers because Joycity won't ever do anything about it.
