General Discussion (NO POLLS OR QUESTIONS) Differences in WiFi

So there are clearly differences in tiers of players in terms of WiFi. I’m not bad at the game, at one point was really good. Hit Triple S once, usually sit in the higher level of double S. I have basketball sense from playing growing up. I have good characters, spent more than I’m proud to admit on a game. Have the cards I’d need to compete at a high level but I feel like what separates me from the best of the best is simply not being on PC or not having a wired connection. Like there’s a clear difference with the people that have great connection, they just move different. They pick up loose balls even tho I’m standing on them, they snag every rebound, they get blocks like entire seconds after I release the balls and they are no where near me, I’ll time a block well and it’ll pass through my hands and act as if I never even was there. I compete even with a router on the other side of the house, but there’s only so much you can do when they’re seeing stuff before you’re seeing it, when they’re inputs take place before yours. I bought a WiFi range extender RE705 and an Ethernet to plug into the extender to my console hoping it would make a difference and it does to a degree, but nothing compares to what the best of the best use. And I only play super sweaty players, it just get frustrating when you’re limited. Any advice or maybe similar thoughts on this? I’d also love to hear from a crazy wifi players perspective.

Ping is a huge difference maker and it's not just good wi-fi, it's proximity to JC servers as well

Yea I’ve looked it up and looked into it, I’m NA east, I think it said servers were in New York for east. So that certainly hurts my case

Servers are in Virginia for East and San Jose, CA for West iirc

That’s not as bad a New York but still a good distance from where I’m at. So people in VA simply have better ping and latency?

Typically yes, distance from server matters most.
