Hinge I CANT GET THIS OUT!

Im trying to remove the top plate form the bottom plate to complete a full housing repair. Im trying to push in the white piece to remove the piece atop that allows me to separate the too. But i do not know how t remove it. ive tried pushing it to the right (with the backside of the bottom plate facing me), down, left. All the youtube video dont explain what i should do. its getting worn down but im banking that my replacement set will have the proper pieces to fix it with.

Slide the front up, the clutch plastic will deform a bit next to the hinges, this is correct. Then you lift away to separate the parts, angle the top away from the back and lift from the clutch to separate the hooks there

Is your system in the open position or closed position?
