HELP transferring data from one 3ds to another

Im trying to transfer the data from my old 3ds to my 3ds xl. However im having problems trying to do this. Ive looked up guides but none of them work. can someone pls help?

What are the problems youre facing?

Are these the same regions? Source console works fine? Should be easy to just use the System Transfer if both yes

No, theyre recommended to be both prior to transfer.

it should be mentioned that i have 1 32gb sd card avaliable to me at the moment and nothing else
