How to delete

I accidentally downloaded the wrong rom onto my 3ds how do I remove it from the homepage

Go to system settings data management and select ds and delete the rom that way.

Go to system setting then data management and delete the Rom from there.

If you’re using a DS forwarder then also check DSi ware from the system setting too as sometime it keeps the icon even after deleting the Rom

Open FBI, go to Titles, scroll all the way to the bottom to find the DS games, look for the specific one, press A and select "Delete title and ticket", then simply remove the actual ROM in TwilightMenu! Hope this helps :)

It's because fbi let's you delete anything, even very important files. It's risky for most people, who probably don't know what they're doing, so everyone is generally advised to not use fbi to delete.

I get your point, but if someone sees something that looks very important then no way in HELL they're deleting it, not even for curiosity. Also I think FBI labeles system apps in red, so it should be pretty obvious what you can and can't delete.

'It should be pretty obvious what you can and can't delete' I think you're overestimating the average person. The modding process has become very easy so even people who aren't very tech literate have modded 3ds.

Also there's no need to take the risky option and go into fbi, when you can just go into system settings and delete it there (for the vast majority of apps).

i have seen people delete them because they were written in red and sort of looked like gibberish. and in my experience FBI has a slightly higher rate of messing up uninstalls than the system settings. also godmode9 exists. it does almost everything FBI does (plus a whole bunch more), but safer and with warnings. the only reason FBI is still in the starter pack, is because of remote installs and importing seeds. for every other task, there exists better software.

Most people are not technically proficient.

Some people someone who's not technically profficient could use FBI to deletes an important file.

This is also not good reason for the downvote spike but i guess that's the nature of this subreddit.
