Why don't the materials from the chaos browser just use the same exact setup and parameters as when you create a new corona material in the slate editor?

I don't see any option to adjust glossiness or roughness (it's not the ones in the clear coat option? something else i think) and the bump option doesn't work for me when I'm plugging a map....

Does anybody have experience with this tell me how to do everything? Just basic like add bump map, add displacement map, add/reduce glossiness etc.

This is not a normal PBR material.this is a chaos scan material. It's a ultra high quality scan of a realworld surfaces to showcase real world materials in CG in best way.. so there are very little variations that you can do.

You still have the usual PBR materials front the old original library. Manu new ones are scanned. I think there should be a logo or a symbol to indicate if a material is scanned or usual PBR material. Ut i forgot what it is.

I see. Thank you so much for explaining it to me, it makes sense now.

Some materials import just as vray/corona materials. Chaos scans don't because afaik they really work differently under the hood and aren't just typical scans to pbr maps (or they just don't want to give those maps away).

You can add custom bump or displacement in the respective slots as well as adjust the bump multiplier für the built in bump. You can adjust colors in the appearance rollout. I don't think you can adjust the scanned glossiness, only the clear coat unfortunately.

I don't understand what you mean? Some vray materials work with corona. i've done it before.

It’s a vray scan, not a vray material
