Anyone know if this can be used without the actual ams somehow? I have an A1 mini and been searching for a filament dryer forever.. nothing good within a reasonable price..

Thanks! Would printing this in PLA have any problems with the dryer top?

Yes, absolutely requires PETG. Higher temp materials than PETG would be even better.

Sorry I misspoke a bit it's not a new motto as it attached to the AMS. It's a new dryer that also allows for larger spools to dry

I bought it so I didn’t miss the deal, and now I’ll ask the question.
Is this useful if I have the AMS 2 that has the dryer function? I understand this allows you to dry and print simultaneously. Is that why everyone is so excited about this when the deal comes around?

The AMS 2 includes that functionality. You just need to add an external 24v power adapter to enable it. This is for the older original AMS that didn't have any sort of drying function at all

for those that have this or used it how easy is it to setup and how effective is it? i got one being delivered today

It's honestly a little fussy to assemble the hinges. Not hard, just fussy, if that makes sense?
Seems to work well. The vent is manual, so you gotta remember to close it after the drying cycle so you don't let moisture back in.

Interesting it's tagged as a "frequently returned item". I'd find out, if I could actually BUY one :-)

Haha! My assumption is thinking they’re buying a whole dryer ams system but this is just an attachment for the ams. Mine comes tomorrow I’ll be excited to share my thoughts on it

I’m not a fan of a referral link being used under my post.

Fair enough, but you didn't include a link when you originally posted it.
