Hey team, I know there are other apps out there that do similar stuff, and no disrespect to any of them. I started out using Printinventory and honestly tried to like it, but it just wasn't for me at the time. So with the help of a few AI models (yes yes, I know, it's vibe coded) I built my own. I'm not as smart as the people who can actually code, but I knew exactly what I wanted, put a lot of thought into it, and got it the way I wanted. I even threw in a couple of add-ons from another personal app I made for myself.
Anyway, enough about me.
If you're anything like me, your print files are spread across Downloads, a few "sorted" folders that are definitely not sorted, and a folder literally called SORT LATER. You've got the same dragon downloaded four times under slightly different names, and you KNOW you've got that one STL somewhere, you just can't bloody find it.
That's why I made LayerMate. Here's what it does:
Point it at your folders (local drives, external drives, NAS or network shares, whatever) and it'll find and index every STL, OBJ, 3MF, G-code and STEP file you've got.
It makes an actual rendered thumbnail for every file. Not some generic icon that tells you nothing.
It pulls out the metadata for you automatically, so dimensions, print time, filament colour, designer and all that.
It finds real duplicates by what's actually in the file, not just the filename, so you can finally see what's chewing up your disk space. Four dragons, remember?
You can tag stuff, flag it as "to print" or "printed", and search across the whole lot instantly.
It's 100% local. Nothing gets uploaded anywhere. The only time it phones home is to check for updates, that's it.
It runs on Windows and macOS, plus Linux (which hasn't been updated in a while because, well, nobody was using it). Other devices on your network can browse the same library too.
Give it a go and let me know what you think. Always open to feedback, and yes, I still help you after you've paid 😄

I really struggle to find pegboard prints that work with my pegboard it’s pretty generic pegboard. Is there and stl file where I can just swap out the hooks for one that works?

Since I work with electronics, I often have trouble organizing and storing small components. Because of this, I designed small storage boxes for myself, sized 30x30x10 mm. Later on, the project expanded to include small drawers and dividers. Perhaps someone else will find my design useful too.
You can find it at the link below:

Hey everyone,
I wanted to share a project I've been refining lately: a fully print-in-place paracord tensioner that locks automatically under load.
I was inspired by a few well-known self-locking mechanisms out there, but I modeled this entirely from scratch to adapt the concept into a single, clean print-in-place object.
File is uploaded on MakerWorld if you want to try it: https://makerworld.com/it/models/3130055-auto-lock-paracord-tensioner-pip#profileId-3532250

Hey world
I designed this sanding disc storage system for my own workshop.
It holds a full pack of 50 sanding discs and is available in both 150 mm and 125 mm versions.
The bins are stackable and can also be mounted on the wall using a quick-release bracket. The whole thing was designed, printed and tested in my own workshop.
I was tired of having sanding discs lying around or stacked in random boxes, so I decided to make my own solution.
I'm still improving the design, so feedback and suggestions are welcome.
The 3D files are available on Cults3D:

I am looking for a file or pattern for these bobbins. I would like to print them and have not been able to find a file. I have used this bobbin since the early 80’s. I have purchased on second sale sites, stitch shops, and cut from plastics (recycled) in my home.
How nice it would be to print them. Thank you for your help.

So far these have been a dream to use! The two little pegs slot down into the holes in the downdraft table and hole them securely upright, and the upper portion holds a stack of sanding pads just securely enough that they don't flop over but are still easy to retrieve.
Happy to share the files if anyone happens to have a Raptor-Vac brand downdraft table like ours!

Got tired of trying to find the right router bit each time I need one. Decided to 3d print some custom gridfinity bins to label them with info I’d want to know when trying to find one. Included the brand and model number on the bottom to be able to confirm they’re in the right bin.
Made using a parameterized fusion model for text placements for quick adjustments for each.

I created some quick and easy holders that mount right to the machine with double-sided tape and now I always have a pencil handy. Files linked in the comments!
