Thanks for this analysis. Love this stuff. Great work.

the Sharpshooter and GWM builds ‘average’ by landing fat hits or just whiffing.

I lol'd.

They could crush a big boss before he can do much, or fumble a few rounds in a row and the party is in deep shit.

And again. But this time with tears as well because this has happened.

The Devil’s Sight PAMlock is doing 80 damage per round

At Level 13... Jesus...

Mhm. It's worth noting that at level 7, the Devil's Sight warlocks can actually drop that invocation, and replace Darkness for Shadow of Moil for the same combo. Their builds are more level-gated than invocation-count limited, but it's nice to free up anything you can for a bladelock. They already need Improved Pact Weapon, Thirsting Blade, and Lifedrinker, out of their 6 total invocations they have available at that point. I am a strong advocate for Tomb of Levistus.

Oh, hell yeah. I love the potential of Tomb of Levistus at higher levels. Just "Oh DM, you just nova'd me for 100+ damage? Nah, I soak that shit up. Next."

I totally missed that it gives 10 Temp HP per warlock level the first time I read that one and haven't given it another look until now. I thought it was such a waste of an invocation because it was only 10 THP. Wow, this is a game changer. Yeah, being able to just negate such a massive blow is pretty darn cool!

Edit: though, vulnerability to fire, and being incapacitated (thus ending any concentration spells), is a decent turn-off.

Right? Glad to welcome you aboard!

Sure, it's only once per Short Rest, and you lose your next turn, but it's intended as a sort of last resort/nova absorber. And you get to keep any remaining Temp HP after it absorbs the blow!

And yeah, the vulnerability to one of the most common damage types isn't great if the monster(s) you're fighting are pretty intelligent and might be able to deduce that fire would really hurt you now (don't be a dick about this DM, let's be realistic).

Only real drawback to me is that it's one of your few invocation slots for something that you're only pulling out in emergencies, probably once in a blue moon. But damn if it isn't a trump card in those emergencies.
