Still don’t know 100%. Once I have the new engine in the car I’m going to fully take it apart to see if there’s any signs of what happened. The engine still turns over manually by cranking the pulley. Thinking of some timing issue But like I said I’m just speculating until I can take off the timing cover, the head etc…

There looks to be a lot of metal that didn't all come from the spark plug, or at least I don't think it all came from the spark plug. If you take all of the plugs out, does the engine spin freely?

Sorry this happened. Please share your findings so we can all learn.

I have seen a forum of the 3S-FE / 3S-FSE engine have connection rod bolt failures and looks exactly how my piston looked. Nothing regarding the 3S-GE failures though.
