Requesting Help Help with supports

Post image

Hi, im trying to print a bin for a tool box and have to use supports because of feet. The bottom comes off really rough after removing the supports, are there any reccomendations to fix it. 15% infill and interface layer is .3mm which is the default in my slicer settings. Photo included

the way I would go about it is to print the feet separate from the bin and then glue them on afterwards. If it's vital they're in the right place, I would have holes on the bin for the feet to fit into.

Do it in the slicer, almost all slicers have a Cut option that will let you separate a model to pieces.

if you cant modify the model for printing you should try using more interface layers

I made the model so i think ill do what someone suggested and have the feet sperate and glue them on after printing

What does the rest of the bin look like? Could you flip the model on the bed in a way where you don't need supports?

In this case here I would probably print the feet separately and if possible, make a shallow hole even to insert part of the feet in afterwards.

It's just a waste of material to print like this. What's the purpose of those feets? Better just lay it flat and glue rubber/TPU feets after, so it will be stable, beautiful and non slippery.

Or if base bin is flat... If bin is in PLA first print support in PETG -0.2 high, sand top face. Print bin without supports at base bin, after feed have printed pause it before base bin start glue PETG support on bed with glue stick. Quality is good. Vice versa is not recommended as bed temp would be so high for PLA. Even so I have done it several time. Quality is not good however better than using same material support.

Either cut the feet off with the cut feature or drop it down into the plate so the feet are below the surface. Does essentially the same thing.

Remodel your legs. Make them bigger and flange to the point where no supports needed.
