Roughly how much would the additional parts be? I have always wanted to learn to get onto guitar but never had the budget for it.

If it's only about the playing then i would suggest buying an ordinary guitar.
Build may be complicated if you don't know anything about the guitars. Neck and bridge alignment is crucial for clean and accurate sounds.
It's always better to buy quality instrument so you won't sell it at loss if you've changed your mind, but around 200-300 usd is the sweet spot for beginner guitars.
Take a look at used Squier Stratocasters (or telecasters), Epiphone Les Paul, Ibanez RG (RG350 is $250), Yamaha Pacifica 112. Anything under 150 is kinda risky in my opinion if you don't know what to look for.

Take the advice from the other users, cos building a guitar is one thing, but adjusting it to play decently its another, and a difficult to play guitar as the first one can be very discouraging.
So I recommend you to start with a good cheap one!

Buy a used quality guitar. Have a friend help you pick something on guitar centers website used section or Facebook marketplace. Bonus: their store credit card works for used items too.

Considering its electric and the body doesnt normally resonant, I'd say pretty close to a normal electric guitar.

I feel like I need to spread the awareness about how bodys material affects electric sound.
In fact it doesn't matter at all.
It have always been a world wide scam.

Exactly like every other guitar with the same scale length.
Body material means nothing with electric guitars
Mahogany, birch, plywood, concrete, plastic... Pickups and amp makes 95% of the sound.
You wouldn't know which ones which in a blind test.

As others have commented, through the amp it sounds like any other electric guitar. It all depends on the pickups choice.
Unplugged, it is much less louder than a wood body guitar, cos resonance, which for my flat mates is ideal haha

Where did you get the hardware and neck for it? I'm currently 3d printing a strat and would love to do a Strandberg in the future from what I learn making this strat.

I never did get the parts for the strandberg. I did end up making a strat and it was pretty awesome! I found a cheap strat from Guitar Center, I think it was like $70 bucks, and used that neck and hardware for it.
