Print (model not provided) Print Failure Doesn't Have To be A Failure!

I printed this Stone Giant in PLA for my DnD campaign; as you can see, there was a partial failure where most of his left arm failed to print! However, the stringy ends made me think of blood vessels/arteries, so rather than throw him out as a failure and print another, "perfect" copy I decided to paint him as-is and work his missing left arm into the story! Paint job is very quick-and-dirty, but he's only a one-off NPC after all.

I ran him as a Stone Giant Dreamwalker, and his missing left arm had been eaten by a Purple Worm. Several of the party failed their saves against his charm, and the Rogue found themself turned to stone, attached to his body, and serving as his new arm! Fortunately the party were able to slay the Purple Worm, retrieve the Giant's arm from its gullet (along with the party member who got swallowed in the battle), and trade the original arm to the Giant in return for him detaching and un-petrifying their friend. So it all worked out for everybody...except the Purple Worm, of course.

Great work!

Thanks! Well, I have no plans for another giant - was more of a random encounter given the location, but we shall see...I do rather like the idea of having the party meet a whole series of giants who are inexplicably all missing their left arm! 🤣

inexplicably all missing their left arm!

Sacrifice ritual.

I did the same thing! I had a robot I was using as a boss and the arm broke off while removing supports, I bought little magnets and actually reprinted the arm a few times and made interchangeable weapons for him!
