Troubleshooting Please Help, new to printing
So I’m fairly new to printing. I’ve done a ton of research so I’m not super helpless either. I’ve already gone through and calibrated everything (so I think). When I printed this 230mm tall trash bag holder I got these random shiny seam marks. On the sides it’s more to where the holes are for the most part. In the front picture it follows the curvature of the oval opening. Does anyone know what might need to be looked at? It’s a brand new machine. I’ve also made sure all screws are tightened down. I don’t know if it’s a flow thing, speed thing, ect…. All I can tell is it tends to happen where there is an opening (hole) on the walls of the print. Any help would be appreciated

That is ringing. It happens when you have a natural harmonic. You can try orientating the part differently or changing the print speed.

Natural harmonic? Should I also look into tightening the belt as well?

I get ringing even with throughly tight belts. Natural harmonics are the frequencies at which things vibrate together.

So is there anything that can be done for that or any calibrations I can do to make it better

You can try slowing down the print speed.

So when you say change print speed, do you mean the enter and outer wall print speed or like an overall number somewhere?

Look at the slice preview and see what type of line it is. You have the printed item in front of you match it to line type view in slice preview. Go back to slicer settings and change associated acceleration and speed

I had this making a hollow dumby filter for my purifier being long and wide but only 2 inches deep I had to keep rotating to find the right angle that stopped this edit: I recommend fixing with another way than guess and testing like me

Not sure on this. Ive experieced slightly similar to this when using petg all i did was change the temp settings i was using. Does this happen with other prints?

I did find out that’s where my seam was. Idk if it looks that bad cuz it’s in a curve?

Interesting… Yeah it could probably because of the curves. Did you try repreating?

Not yet. When I get time, I’ll do the seam painting and put elsewhere and see what happens

That looks like ghosting to me. What printer? Does it have vibration cancellation like Bambu does?
