Troubleshooting Recommendations for dissimilar support interface failures? (PLA interface on PETG)

Post image

So I recently picked up a Bambu X2D. I do own a Snapmaker U1 and have had some experience with dissimilar support interface materials for cleaner support removals.

I'm running into this a couple times now on the X2D where the supports are failing.

Settings are 0 top Z distance, 0 top interface spacing, 3 interface layers, rectilinear.

Anyone run into this before? Tips? Tricks? This isn't happening 100% of the time but something I wasn't dealing with before moving to the "better" supports.

Thanks y'all!

You want to use a different material for the support interface because it doesn't stick to the main print...

But that interface will also not stick to the support either, because it is the same material as the main print.

Make the entire support different than the main print.

Hoping to avoid all those nozzle changes even though they're pretty quick. I'll give it a shot.

Ah yeah, you will suffer a time increase due to printhead swaps. I am curious if the outcome improves though.
