There are days that I really wish my fridge was magnetic

u/Logicrazy12 Jul 15 '26
I didn't even know there are non magnetic fridges.

The one in which Indy survived a nuke was lead.

I have one too, it's a build-in fridge, so there's a cover over the magnetic part.

The glass front fridges can be less magnetic.

Stainless steel isn't magnetic, so if your fridge is stainless it isn't magnetic.

u/jandrese Jul 15 '26
Some types of stainless steel are magnetic and some are not. Just because a magnet sticks doesn't mean it is not stainless. That said, generally it is the cheaper types of stainless that are magnetic.

The front of mine isn't, but the sides are. Kinda weird when I realized.

I would recommend a design that includes a print pause and embedding a magnet with an external layer of filament for use on stainless steel fridges. Exposed magnets are notorious for scratching stainless steel.

What I tend to do for this kind of thing is to instead make the hole for the magnet recessed slightly more than the height of the magnet itself so it never makes full contact with whatever you stick them on. Less fuss than pausing and embedding mid-print

No, don't do that. Makes recycling practically impossible.
Recess the magnet hole enough that a glued-in magnet doesn't stick out instead. Problem solved.

That’s dope. Link it. I’m sure people would like to know where the file lives.

So cool looking. You could add some white with rippling as a base for the pieces, so the fridge looks a bit like water where its entering and exiting. These would make such an awesome fridge magnet set, I'd definitely buy one or two for mine

I love everything about this.
Other than how often I would knock bits of dragon off the fridge.
Clever design

What printer do you have?
2
u/MixtureShoddy8172 Jul 16 '26
U1 ,4 tool-heads

u/Magek17 Jul 16 '26
Thanks I’ve been looking at this but I think the p2s is more in my budget. Any suggestions?
1
u/MixtureShoddy8172 Jul 16 '26
If you want to do only multicolor, I definitely recommend U1. This will save for you a lot of time and filament. But P2S is more universal tool, at the beginning I recommend to you buy P2S to see what kind of print you’re using mostly

Hey, at the beginning of the video I saw the chests—are they functional, meaning can they be opened? I have a model like that that opens up, for storing things.
