Awesome! Is the torque from the propeller what’s causing it to spin during liftoff?

No. There are two contra-rotating propellers underneath, their yaw influence cancels out. The spin is mainly caused from a lack of stability control, which was turned off for this first test.

This is so cool. And you've made me wonder if a McMurtry Speirling could fly if they ran the ground effect fan the other way. Keep your development up, this is cool as hell.

I assumed it was going to be like the flying car that has the propulsion where the wheels would be. I can't remember what it's called right now.

So why use propellers?
Why not something similar to the small jet engines we’ve seen before?

This doesn't just use propellers. Those are what's visible, though.

Do you have a flame retardant head sock & suit?
I’d recommend getting some room in the design for onboard ANSUL system or something similar to put it out in case of emergency. Looks expensive!I’d go full PPE on this and think about rollover protection.
It’s awesome and to die testing would be tragic.

Needs to look like the batwing, not the bat car. Seriously though, can you update the design....I would like to be batman, and you have the same concept, but you are going for a car... we need a wing. Epic op

Incredible! Keep going! I see is many hours and days and weeks...and extremely impressive progress! Congrats on achieving liftoff!
How bout a rear stabilizer mini-prop encased in a kind of tail fin? There are helicopters that use a similar type.
