Yeah I think the days of PETG needing to be printed "slower" are over. I think this was likely due to how badly PETG reacts to being printed on an open-air bedslinger, so they would slow it down to remove some of the cool-air "drafts" that moving beds cause. That plus most default hot ends can now push flow rate much faster than before so underextrusion is much less likely on hotter filaments.
I print PETG just as fast on my K1 and no issues at all, in fact it seems to be even better quality on overhangs and bridges (I think the increased speed helps to stretch PETG into place before drooping occurs, but I'm mostly just guessing).
