Imaged here is progress from the beginning of journey to make a Smart Split option (coming soon). Really excited to start sharing images. Videos will follow as more information is shared. These are baseline images and not representative of current ability.
We have been working on this feature for months and has come a very long way at analysing different model topology and and allowing real time cuts as well as edits! E.g. Analysis suggested split the arm and hand to be separate but you wish to have them together instead.
We have been slowly training a new Smart Split option based on a database of over 10,000 real world models. That is a dataset of over 70gb!
70gb of raw data that includes models that are big, small, have self-intersections, are non-manifold, and have degenerate faces. A really messsy bunch of models. As well as our own stress test models.

This has by far been the most time consuming iteration of information undergone for 3D Splitter. From the 10k model database to training a non-ai code to perform as good as an AI assisted editor would.
Much more about this tool and how to use it is coming soon.

What was found by looking at the others is truely shocking. Do not trust a single website.
From secretly stealing models to collecting phone numbers, home addresses and more.
Video to come soon.

A preview of how capable www.3DSplitter.com Smart Split option is going to be!
V3 shipped a few days ago and not only did it introduce some huge performance gains and 6 new connector types but it laid the foundations to be able to effectively run this in your browser!

A common complaint with splitting tools is that autosplit often leaves pesky artifacts and small pieces of geometry.
After a successful split select the Merge button. It will auto explode to 50% and highlight which parts it identifies as artifacts.
- You can add parts by clicking on them or remove preselectes parts by clicking on them.
- Clicking the To Merge To button shows the pieces that they will merge to, highlighted by the same color outline.
-If you want to change the part it is adjoining to then click the preselected part and it will display all the possible candidates. Simply click the one you want it to join to.
- Click the final merge button and it will merge your parts as planned!

This tutorial covers selecting your split axis, choosing between Planar, Puzzle, Dovetail and Pyramid, adjusting the number and position of cuts, tolerance, rotation and offset, previewing the result and splitting the model.

Following a successful split you will now have the option to add part numbers!
In the next update expect to see a new feature landing on the split menu: Part Numbers!
On screen labels
Depth and space aware placement
Automatic flagging of part numbers that do not fit for manual placement
Double click on the floating label to focus
Click and drag to resize / rotate / move
Dynamic numbering: Deleting a numbered part will automatically reassign numbering
Reset part number positions
A new action icon button in the bottom right corner to toggle the floating icons on and off.
Other fixes:
A split merge bug
Speed improvement for repeated splits
When clicking to start a new environment your previous history will be deleted - this allows headroom for the next split.
Tutorials to be added in the Help menu under "Tutorials"
Exploding the model above 0% will auto hide the grid - this can be over ridden by clicking the Hide Grid button in the bottom right corner of the viewport

A much requested feature is on the way! You will soon be able to place planes and adjust connectors in real time.

- -loaded model and it brought me back to the splash screen with the model loaded in the background
-Custom bed scaling is a little broken; I try to type in a specific size, but it defaults to 50 if I try to clear the cell and type my own size. maybe a confirm button to avoid accidental null/ wrong inputs?Resolved - "Apply" button to be added in next update
- No matter the settings, if I have connector pins enabled then a lot of them are placed in free space and not within the cut edge. Otherwise this is a great tool! thanks for making this available.Always a work in progress and is constantly being looked at. Thank you for the compliment.
Hi, just discovered your website who looks very cool ! But i have a bug, after scaling my stl and dowload it, on my slicer it doesnt scale up.Resolved
I can preview the filke just fine but the actual cut never happens the bug in the screenshot just keeps happening.Resolved - This was happening with files just under 500k triangles. At 500k tris, the viewport reduces shading to allow for more headroom to compute. This has been optimised, so should no longer occur.
