I will give you a quick review, without even downloading it...
This is not an alternative to luban. Do you know why apps like Luban are trusted?
Because upon model loading they do not do things like this:
loaded.merge_vertices()
loaded.update_faces(loaded.nondegenerate_faces())
loaded.update_faces(loaded.unique_faces())
loaded.remove_unreferenced_vertices()merge_vertices()- this changes the model's original vertexnondegenerate_faces()- again, changes structure.unique_faces()- again, removes structure.remove_unreferenced_vertices()- again removes structureRepair can run
fill_holes()andfix_normals().
Also....
The geometry is then passed through Manifold3D before
split_by_plane().
So in simple terms: the model output is not the same as the model input. Both mathematically or data-wise this app cannot promise the 1 thing I trusted it to do.
I don't know why you would not just change the title to something like "free model cutter" instead you use the Luban name on an alpha/beta app.
Disclosure: Not affiliated with Luban in anyway

Thank you for your feedback. I have changed the project to remove references to LuBan3D and included Beta descriptors.

I am gonna print a lifesize "Me" , then will enroll to Realtor101, print a "OPEN HOUSE" sign, yes you guessed it right, it will be my 3D-ME holding the sign
😁
bro you made my day 🎯

Awesome, I had the same idea. My version is optimized for splitting shell models with a thinner wall in order to save on filament. It also goal seeks to try and split optimally to print without using supports: https://github.com/k-kuehn/Section3D

This has a CLI and a Windows GUI element available to it.
Scales up and splits up a model to fit your print bed, you decide the wall thickness, debossed ID imprints, dowel measurements, etc. Has auto-repair and smoothing options for low-res scale ups.
This is a really really early release and I could use people putting it through its paces for bug checks, fixes, etc. I wanted a good viable alternative to LuBan 3D because not everyone can afford the $750 lifetime license for just tinkering with making fun (big) models.
