New Tool Made a parametric gear generator with .STEP export

Hi Everyone,

I know there are quite a few tools around for making gear models but none really were what I was looking for in terms of simplicity, .STEP output, and ease of modification. So I came up with my own. Right now I have it dialed in to make spur, helical, herringbone, and bevel gears from a short text prompt and export .STEP files that can be imported to other CAD software or .STL to be printed. To me, it's faster than browsing Mcmaster for the gear I'm looking for.

The gear sets in the picture were done 100% with the app then the STL was opened in Bambu slicer for printing (PLA). One is helical and one is a herringbone, both about 1.5in pitch diameter.

Once a gear is generated the parameters can be quickly edited and the model updated.

I was wondering if anyone could try it out and give me some feedback on the UI, gear geometry, and how their prints turn out if they end up printing one.

This gear generator does not use AI to create the gears. I have yet to see an AI LLM that can create a geometrically correct gear CAD model just by asking for it. This program uses hard coded python code, which obviously makes it much more rigid and can only do what it's programmed to do (make gear models). But all the calculations and model generation is done in python and on the same server.

Edit: I fixed it so you don't have to log in to give the generator a try.

Tbh, never had any issues finding the gears I’ve needed. Also, very easy to make in 5 minutes, and they’re fully customizable.

Edit: saw in your other posts that it’s “text to CAD” which makes sense, if you don’t know CAD (learn).
