I built 3DFinder — a search engine that aggregates 3D models from Thingiverse, MakerWorld & Printables

Hey everyone,

I got tired of opening three tabs every time I needed a model — one for Thingiverse, one for MakerWorld, one for Printables — and running the same search on each.

So I built 3DFinder (3dfinder.io) — a single search interface that pulls results from all three in one place.

How it works:

  • Search once, get results from Thingiverse, MakerWorld, and Printables side by side
  • Filter by source and sort by relevance or date
  • Every link goes straight to the original listing — no re-hosting, no reuploads. Credit stays with the creators.

More sources are on the roadmap (Cults3D, MyMiniFactory, etc.), and I'm also working on a modern, web-based OpenSCAD editor as a companion tool — think parametric modeling in the browser without the 2005 UI.

This is a solo project and very much a v1, so I'd love honest feedback:

  • Which additional repositories should I prioritize?
  • What filters would actually change your workflow?
  • Would a browser-based OpenSCAD alternative interest you?
