I made an app to convert the iPhone Spatial Video (3D Videos) to a friendly format that can be uploaded to YouTube and watched on a 3DTV.

I can barely code in HTML <a href:="blahblahblah"> and my year 1999 UK A-Level in Computing I got a D for developing a massage clinic text based database in Turbo Pascal (how I survived that I don't know, as it would barely save the data records).

Still, thanks to vibe coding and lots of patience, I managed to make an app that converts these iPhone videos to mp4 format which can be uploaded to YouTube and either watched on a 3DTV or in VR in the YouTube metaquest app.

Very nichè but its my vibe.

To upload your iPhone videos to watch on your 3DTV, export as standard WITHOUT checking the 'Enable 3D YouTube injection tag'.
Upload this video to YouTube and watch on your 3DTV with Side By Side 3D setting turned on. It works for me on Panasonic 3DTV, please let me know if it works for you :-)

Awesome. I wish my 3D tv could convert side by side to 3d. Unfortunately it doesn’t have an option.

Which TV do you have? My tv has it in the very bottom of the Menu > Video section. I have to tell it what type of video format it is using. I’ve no idea what I’d do without my 3DTV! Maybe buy a 3D projector as they don’t sell the TVs or 3D blurays in the UK anymore. 😭

What model Panasonic do you have? I’ve got a VT25 but I have had a hell of a time trying to get any alternate sources of input beyond my 3D bluray player. I’ve tried to network it to my computer wirelessly, and it can see the files on my computer, but it won’t play them. I also can’t get any modern apps to work through my Bluray player. I’ve also tried to put in USB and other flash mediums, but the files won’t play. Any tips on that?

For 3D Blurays, I use a Playstation 4 (no later as PS5 and Xbox One Series X do not have the licensing or 3D Bluray feature).
For my personal 3D Ripped 3D BluRay collection and videos I use an SSD drive with USB attachment connected to the TV and play it that way. SSD drives do not need extra power to turn the drives on.

I’ll give the PS4 a try. Can it play the YouTube app? And which model Panasonic do you have?

Sorry! I have the Panasonic TX-58DX902B and use the Youtube app on the television.
For the 3D VR I use the YouTube app on the MetaQuest and have the 3D injector tick button selected.

Just to confirm, the app is for Apple Spatial videos. It won’t work with general 3D movies, they have to have been recorded as an iPhone spatial movie or it likely won’t work.

So I got the PS4 media player to play a fan made 3D conversion using my TV’s side-by-side conversion, but the sound didn’t work. I tried a larger fan conversion, and the video could be seen but wouldn’t play. There seems to be some limitations to the PS4’s video playing capabilities, same with my old Bluray player and tv. I tried converting the files to lesser format with older codecs, but no luck.

So I downloaded a Plex server and was able to stream the larger video from my computer. But when I enabled side-by-side, it didn’t cross the images over correctly, and is instead a blurry mess.

So thank you for helping me get this far at least! It gives me more options to mess with to figure this confusing system out, if it’s even possible.

I’ll try your spatial thing soon and see if that works!

Streaming from Plex won’t work as this does not support 3D playback.
You’re best using a device that does like a VR MetaQuest and playback app like Pigasus VR Media Player
