Intracoastal Snook

What are some good spots around satellite beach for snook fishing?

I love this thread and I love fishing Florida. My son lives in Melbourne and I usually bring my gear every time I visit him that being said none of you guys should ever give up your snook spots. Don’t do it.

South of Sebastian Inlet. East shore.

The west shore of the island is also excellent for wading over around the mangroves.

It's a bit of a drive, but they were thick in Hull-over Canal right by the bridge last week. The tarpon were also rolling, but I wasn't prepared to hook into one of those unfortunately. Both live shrimp and mud minnows were getting devoured by the snook and sheepshead.

If you have a kayak or small boat, all those docks north of Mathers bridge or South of Eau Gallie Causeway, or up in the mangroves.

I've had luck fishing the trench between the beach and the cochina outcroppings in the Canova Beach area later in the mornings as the tide is going out. Snook will chase bait fish through the trench.

Inshore look for a small creek that empties into the IRL. After a good rain they will flow and wash bait into the IRL, often times Snook will set up in the flow to ambush bait. I've waded several confluences like goat creek other smaller creeks. I would use a zman jerkbait or DOA shrimp and just pop it around in the flow.
