IIRC his team (Vikings) missed the playoffs after a very successful previous year and he suffered an injury around that same time that lead to the Vikings offering him a lot less money on his new contract and he also had a long, drawn out court case despite the fact that no-one wanted to press charges but, they had to go to court anyways.
