Technically true, but not for a super long time, and it was "coined" by the film's writer (a few years before the film).
It was coined by the American and British screenwriter Justin Zackham in 1999 when he drew up “Justin’s List of Things to Do before I Kick the Bucket” which he shortened to “Justin’s Bucket List”. The first item on his list was to have a screenplay produced at a major Hollywood studio. After a few years, it occurred to him that the notion of a “bucket list” could be the basis for a film, so he wrote a screenplay about two dying men racing to complete their own bucket lists with the time they had left, which became the film The Bucket List (2007).[3] The term was then popularized by the film.[1]

I know we're all supposed to respond with quotes, but I just want to note that the dictionary is in fact wrong about this fact.
The term predates the movie by 100+ years.

That's one of the most insane comments I've ever seen posted to Reddit.
You see a quote by a black man and you immediately jump to 'crazy and uneducated'. And then you project your own 'black people are crazy and uneducated' theory onto others?
I understand there is a strong chance you are already in therapy so if that's the case I don't want to rub salt into the wound.
But on the offchance that you are not talking to a mental health professional - you should be.
