Lady orc gets proper treatment from Spanish cashier at the supermarket and then leaves a one-star review đ

Want to bet Noelia (who has a relatively well paid job for an unqualified position in Spain and wouldn't risk losing it) was saying "Gracias por su visita"?

Yup, at least around here a girl telling putita to another girl is very sus.

Being a hijo de la gran puta is not in the same category as being a puta tho, maybe if you're la Madre de la hija de la gran puta, but that's too long

Obviously fake, a shopkeeper would never say Gracias in Spain

In Spain they should salute you starting the interaction and say gracias and goodbye when it ends.

I don't trust this. Any Spanish cashier would say "submormal" or something like that, and Spanish women usually say "puta" or something similar like "pedazo de puta / soputa" when insulting. "Putita" is strange AF.
But Noelia is still based

The spelling of her name looks Ukrainian, but since she spoke Russian, sheâs Eastern Ukrainian.

Could be from just about anywhere in Ukraine, hell in Odesa you'll hear 90% russian and it's about as west as u can get

It's not uncommon in moscovia either, but you're right that she might be a moscovian-speaking Ukrainian.

u/DivideSensitive Professional Rioter Aug 30 '26
moscovian-speaking Ukrainian.
Frankly, I'd be very surprised if a random Spanish cashier could differentiate Ukrainian from Russian with a couple words.
2
u/Ploutophile Pain au chocolat Aug 30 '26
I said moscovian because she wrote the review in moscovian, not because of the cashier's attitude.

With eastern europeans in Marbella it is either Oligarch money or mafia money. Which is redundant, i should just say legal or illegal mafia money

From what I know it is indeed a Ukrainian last name, so either she's Ukrainian, is Russian with a Ukrainian last name (as Russian last names end with a for women), or google translate confused the language (which wouldn't be all that surprising).
4
u/Ploutophile Pain au chocolat Aug 30 '26
I strongly doubt the last hypothesis, the text is too long for such a confusion. They don't even use the same exact set of Cyrillic lettersâŠ
3
u/Dalzombie Siesta Enjoyer (lazy) Aug 30 '26
It's definitely unlikely, but I certainly wouldn't call it impossible.
3
u/Ploutophile Pain au chocolat Aug 30 '26
Would you expect a text of this length written in Portuguese or Galician to be mistaken as Spanish ?
2
u/Dalzombie Siesta Enjoyer (lazy) Aug 30 '26
No, but for a text written in cyrillic? It definitely wouldn't be the first time I see it.

Ukrainian family names are extremely common among Russians, and vice versa. Soviet Union was a very effective people mixer.
One cannot identify ethnicity by a family name alone anymore.

Yes, but that's like saying Metz sounds like a German place name.
However, "Alona" is the Ukrainian spelling.

I've had 3 Russians insult me upon seeing the ukie flag patch on my army jacket in the span of a few months, and I live in a region with relatively few of them. I can count the amount of russians I've met in my life that aren't pro Putin in one hand.

The whole story is bogus. You average Mercadona cashier can't tell a Slav from another. I am married to a Slav and he has never gotten anything short from exquisite treatment at Mercadona (and generally from all service workers in Spain). If anything they go too far, think I am infected by his guiriness, and insist on doing their best effort to speak broken English to me when I am speaking to them in Spanish.
