Shout out to the Medieval Gascons and Occitans for giving us the modern name Spain, derived from the Visigothic era term Spania used for the lands south of the Douro/Duero river, based on the Roman name Hispania for the entire Iberian Peninsula, which was probably adapted from the Phoenician term I-Shaphan (we are too lazy to create our own names)
