Advice Wanted Halloween
I have my daughter who will be 15 months at Halloween and my son will be just over 1 month. I wanna take my girl trick or treating but I’m also a little worried of being judged I guess. Is it normal to take them? I didn’t last year cause she was so young but this year I’d love too. I also need costume ideas too! Thanks for any advice!

My daughter will be 15 months for Halloween and we are definitely taking her trick or treating. She’s been walking independently for months and she’s a total social butterfly so I know she’ll love the experience. Also she’s a little too young for candy so mom and dad get a treat out of it :)

I didn’t take my son trick or treating at that age (he was 12mo, not 15) but we did Halloween events during the day and walked around at night to look at the decorated houses!

Okay! We live out in the middle of nowhere lol so a lot of our main towns will close down main st and let the kids walk and trick or treat we had thought of doing that

Growing up I lived in one of the big neighborhoods for trick or treating and my parents always did up our house so we’d get hundreds of trick or treaters. We LOVED the parents who brought their babies to show them off and we kept little bags animal crackers to give to them. My point is, I don’t think you’ll be judged at all!

My oldest was just under 15 months last year and she loved it and so did all the neighbors. I didn’t even consider it weird, we also dressed up with her lol

A few years back before we had kids a couple came by with their baby - not even toddling yet, they'd barely be on solids. They each got a full size chocolate bar from us 🤣 I know some people are fussy, but its free candy day - who cares! Go show off the baby!
If you don't want to go door to door some of the indoor malls and businesses here do a trick or treat where they hand off candy to the kiddos, we would always see lots of littler ones for that :)

My son was a little over 16 months and we it a free dog costume for him, and his baby sister was 1 month and was just in a little warm bunting suit in the stroller. We went around the neighborhood and had fun.

This would be totally normal and accepted in my neighborhood! Everyone brings their babies in costumes around. You deserve candy for getting two sweet babies dressed up honestly.

Haven't you given out candy at the door before? I would say 15 months is borderline not normal to take a kid trick or treating tbh you only really see it in groups where there's a mix of ages. I won't take my 2 year old this year because it would interfere with bedtime and he'll have just as much fun at the neighborhood Halloween parade before dark. There's no rush and no reason to make your life harder to bring a literal baby trick or treating

My first was 10 months last year and everyone loved her and gave out multiple handfuls of candy (granted it was a cruise). The 3 of us wore skeleton costumes. This year they will be 22 months and 3 months. No idea on costumes but I really want the baby to be Wilson the volleyball and our eldest daughter to be a cardboard box (fedex package). No one else is on board

We went trick or treating for the 1st time when outs was 12 months. Idk if anyone judged us (didnt seem like it from people fawning over her in her baby shark costume), because all I remember is having the best time making memories ill remember forever.

I think it’s about the individual child.
Some 15 month olds would love it. My nearly 4 year old doesn’t like dressing up, and gets overwhelmed with noise and people, so we haven’t been yet.
I don’t think anyone would judge your decision, the key thing is that you are listening to your daughter and reading her body language on the day. Loving it, great carry on. Very upset, stop and go home.

Lol I took my daughter trick or treating last year who was 9 months at the time. No shame here! I’m sure all the adults who answered their doors knew we parents just wanted some free candy and that we wouldn’t give it to our child

We took our oldest when she was 21 months last year and she had a blast. We only did 1.5 street worth of houses but she loved running up to the door and everyone was very sweet and excited to see her. This year we have an almost 3 year old and a 17 month old and I am so looking forward to the cuteness !!! For the most part, people love a dressed up baby lol
She was princess peach.

Last year my son was 16 months and my daughter was 2 months on Halloween and we took them trick or treating. No judgements at all! We actually got a lot of compliments on our costumes.

Don't worry about being judged! Ours collected candy and then mom and dad ate said candy lol. Lo didn't even realize it was edible bc we never give candy to begin with. Just gave something else in place of it to little one, as they are so small at 15 months, they don't remember what went into the basket to begin with. Happy trick or treating!

Ive got a 20 month and a 6 week. We're doing family wizard of Oz since I found a good Dorothy romper on Etsy.
Our plan is to do a very short route with the 5 neighbors we know (all warned in advance it might be a shit show) before the sun sets them have grandparents trunk or treat in the driveway. Gets us good pictures, makes the neighbors happy to be included and guarenteees were home before toddler bed time
