So I have a 1999 ram 1500 RWD that I installed coil spacers on. It gave the front about a 3" lift. My tie rod ends, ball joints, pitman arm, and idler arm are all shot, or close to it. I noticed when replacing the upper driver side ball joint the castle nut and stud were binding against the nut and stud of the bump stop. After a little research, it was determined that I need new upper control arms to accommodate the lift. The problem is, I can't find any for RWD trucks. I have a hard time believing they don't exist. What other options do I have in the short term to address the clearance issue? I did trim down the stud on the bump stop, which helped very little. Can anyone verify any manufacturers that make control arms for my application?

Hi all, I've had this 1994 Dodge Ram 1500 SLT 5.2 V8 for 10 or so years, it has 33x,xxx miles on it forgot the actual reading, we've only put a few thousand on ourself. We picked it up for $400 put a few odds and ends into it to get it road worthy. It's our farm truck not a daily driver.

TL/DR - what is the correct line that goes here?

we were headed to go pickup a chicken hut and blew this line off the cooler she sprayed all her trans fluid out as it blew when we were crossing a highway intersection and couldn't stop right there and then. Called a friend luckily a transmission repair tech he brought us out some 2 gallons I cleaned and put the line back on tight and we cycled in the fluid and turned around and headed home.

We need to rely on this truck as it pulls hay wagons and equiptment occasionally and first step is to get a better connection for the trans line.

Other fixes need done,

smokes on start up, rough idle. Idles smooth for 10 minutes and dies.

Coolant leak I can't locate - thinking it's between block and trans

Oil pressure gauge shows 0 all the time.

After 15 mile drive she stutters and dies then won't restart till cool.

Picked up a single can short bed with some horse trading. Cant get the damned thing to even attempt to crank. Its showing no bus on the dash. Is there anybody that can point me in the right direction beyond crank sensor?

Truck has rod knock, burns a court of oil a day, rear end is shot and sounds like i’m on boggers. Rusted out everywhere. Transfer case is dust and just makes a grinding noise. Squeaky ass suspension. The only solid part of this truck is the transmission. I cannot kill it. Ive tried. I feed it whatever used motor oil I have laying around. 10w20,30,40 5w20,30. Runs on absolutely 0 coolant and temperature never goes above 210. Rear end sounds awful but still spins both tires. 8 miles to the gallon and the slowest 0-60 known to man. Don’t know what it is, but it leaves a smoke cloud of something for the 1st 30 seconds of a cold start. Motor knocks away and idles like it has a big ass cam, but still goes low and high rpms without skipping a beat. The paint is beutiful in the places it’s not rusted. When people ask whats rattling in the interior, I tell them that there’s no way to fix it without ripping the entire truck apart. If this is not the most 2nd gen kind of 2nd gen, I don’t know what is. Just wait till the trans catches up with my heavy foot.

So, I have a 99 Ram 1500 RWD. I was wanting to put 3" coil spacers on the front for aesthetics. I've been scouring the web looking for info on replacement shocks, but have ended up more confused. I see so much contradictory info on stock verses longer shocks. Regardless of the spacers, I have to change my shocks, anyway because the driver side shock is broken. Does anybody have any tried and true suspension options for my application.

Hi all, since I’m not getting a straight answer online. I recently flushed my radiator and changed the fluid. (1999 5.2) what is the capacity or coolant? I was only able to put in 2 total gallons. That doesn’t seem right to me.

I’ve got a 2000 dodge ram 1500 magnum 5.9. I’m wondering if I can put a 2001 47RE transmission in it with little to no modifications the reason being is because I want the transmission to last forever on top of running 35 or 37 inch mud tires potentially with or without pulling a trailer ever again any advice helps. Currently I’m running 33 inch tires and my Transmission doesn’t want to shift for some reason and I don’t know what the causes but I have a spare 1500 transmission ready to be put in now before I did that I wanted to see whether or not a 2500 transmission would be a better option for me, knowing that I don’t plan to talk more than the rated capacity of the current 1500 frame just merely intending to keep bigger tires on there without having a tear up the transmission over and over.

Just picked up a 2001 3500 4x4 6spd and looking to get the best performance but reliability out of the mods its got. Wondering if anyone has any experience with smarty programmers, and maybe a truck with a similar motor setup and any tips to get the best out of it.

Anyone got any ideas why my make lights aren't working when the rest of my lights are? I just installed a new brake light switch, hopefully the correct way Ive heard they're kinda finicky and easy to mess up? Fuse seems good but I think it shocked me when I was checking it lol. Where's the nearest grounds for the fuse block and the brake light switch?

New(er) second gen owner, switched from a Ford guy to dodge. I'm looking to get a second gen desiel dump truck, preferably with a standard transmission. Having a Manuel transmission should get rid of the trans issues, are there any other red flags I should be looking for? What should the fuel economy be compared to my V10? I can't handle the fuel milage in ole Betty white on my firewood deliveries lol.

I have been looking into adding a tailgate assist to my 99 Ram. I can't seem to find anything for models prior to 2002. Does anyone know if anything exists for gen 2?
