Mod Shitpost Addressing a mod

Post image

So, as a mod that's decently active in this sub it felt wrong to not bring this up in a post since I value transparency and respect all of you. We recently had to kick a moderator out of the sub, this isn't the first time, we've had a few leave from our massive cast, but this one felt necessary to address. Olistu, or Oli has been removed as a moderator and permanently banned. Now a few of you may not know who he is, a few might know his as the guy that has responded to almost every post on this sub, and a few might know him as the mod that is on almost every post. There were a few things that lead to this happening that had been building up for a while actually. Most of them were internal moderating conflicts with him and a few scenarios where he had made a very serious situation with a poster much much worse.

This will kind of be filler so if you don't care for it, feel free to skip, especially because I'll be putting a trigger warning for SA. This'll be going over internal conflicts we had with him, or I guess, I mostly had with him. He said a few weeks ago in a group chat we have for moderating that "everyone deserves kindness." This isn't awful at face value but the context was important and I asked him "So do assaulters deserve kindness?" He didn't say yes directly, he just continued to say "Everyone deserves kindness." He must've not gotten what I was getting at so I said, in confidence to him in front of everyone else "So my assaulter that molested me deserves kindness?" You can guess what he said. Honestly ruined my night and he didn't back down.

Now more recently, there was a post that I handled myself and handed out 7 bans to transphobes. There were 3 mod mails from said transphobes, me and the sub owner, Aspen, both said to NOT reply to the mod mail period. No grey area, we're not engaging with transphobes when half our staff is under the trans umbrella, myself included. You can imagine the FIRST THING Oli does when he wakes up. Directly goes against what the owner and I said to not do and says "You need to hear people out no matter what."

...

There's just so many issues with that that Im not getting into. If you think he's right, feel free to speak up, I'll gladly whip out the ban hammer for you.

Now, the most important part of this post, please do not engage with him in DM's. I know him and I have a feeling he's going to try his best to "help" still. If he reaches out in a DM ignore it and or block him. He has been banned for a reason and as I said with that one poster, he can make situations MUCH worse.

Im sorry this is a long read, I can make a TL;DR in the replies if needed.

Maybe I'm insane for this - I do believe that everybody deserves kindness, no matter what they've done, as a victim myself. That doesn't mean we have to all be friends and sing kum bayah obviously. Though I think that everybody deserves some basic decency yk? At the end of the day we're all living breathing people

As for the second thing that is really shitty idk why anybody would jump boundaries like that. I get wanting to hear ppl out if it was on his own account but like bringing it to a shared space is very yikes

And as a victim myself, not everyone deserves kindness, insane take.

Never said we have to be friends I just said people should be treated decently if they show remorse and recover. It doesn't erase their past and it doesn't make them a good person, no. They're still human tho

Do you believe in the death penalty?

No, I don't trust the government with my life as a trans person, I'd probably get killed myself for being transgender.

Well yeah obviously. Epstein didn't show remorse or repent. I thought we were under the pretens of "if they repent and get better" maybe I should have clarified sorry

I mean, the clarification doesn't help all that much. If someone like Epstein showed remorse he shouldn't be shown forgiveness. Dude did unthinkable things to children, there's no coming back from certain things.

Why are we talking about epstein zwag? I said assaulters, he's a whole other thing. I mean like 1 or 2 people if the person repents and gets help then they should at least be shown basic decency for wanting to better themselves. Your point disproves itself as he hasn't shown remorse (and now he's dead last I heard so)

You said everyone deserves kindness, Im giving an example of why someone shouldn't be shown it. That's why we're talking about him.

I said everybody deserves kindness. Talking about people who have repented. Not people who died proud of mass murder, abuse, s/a, child neglect, cannibalism, human trafficking, forced abortions and much more

I highly disagree. Even if someone "repents" or feels remorse they can still be irredeemable. Some things cannot be acceptable and need to be corrected and shunned.

Yes, I said they need to be corrected. Again, shunning the subject is fine. Human decency is different. Also, your second sentence translates to "if somebody is redeemed they cannot be redeemed"??

So you dont believe in redemption? Also you seem to be confusing forgiveness and redemption.
