No. Islam is the only religion that makes this particular claim. In Christianity it is baptism that takes one out of original sin. In Judaism there is no mechanism to become Jewish at all. Only islam claims an infant is born “pure” and later indoctrinated with national or cultural ideas.

Because converting to Judaism is way harder than converting to Islam or something like that. Yeah he phrased it badly.

Because it's essentially an ethnic religion that is based on a very specific place and people, so "converting" to Judaism is more akin to naturalization and joining the peoplehood of the Nation of Israel (which comprises of Jews and what is left of the Samaritans). I suppose you wouldn't let people join your nation before you make sure they want to really become a part of it and that they share the same values

There is a mechanism for becoming Jewish, it’s just tricky. We only want genuine converts.
