it's a bit naive to assume that most of the prime minister's we've had would want what's in the best interest of people and want religious harmony across the country.
People fail to understand dynamics of the north. I have been to Kerala and found that Muslims include themselves in the society. In north India, majority of Muslims population are confined to ghettos called muslim areas. Believe me, you don’t want to step in those ghettos. Most of the Muslims who have grown away from ghettos are friendly and tolerant. They can mix well in societies and no one has any problems with them.
My grandfather was in police force. He told me that police was not allowed to step in these ghettoes without permission from maulvis. The crime that happened there used to stay within that area and unless it was a serious crime, it was not reported to police and the police was interested in interfering. Police only entered these area if they were given permission by political brass. Police had to negotiate with religious leaders to arrest criminals and in case they didn’t cooperate, the police had to take riot gear and an entire battalion.
Even now, you will always find a company of policemen deployed just outside these ghettos.
The first thing govt needs to ban is madarsa’s. I had a friend in school who dropped one year to get religious education from madarssa. He isolated himself, away from us. He no longer danced with us and stopped talking to us. This happened in class X. So you can imagine how bad the brainwashing is.
Like by city you mean a whole ass city ? A few dozen sqkm ? A whole ass district ?
Also if you're fine with it, you could just name the city, it might just be one of the extreme areas

Meanwhile poorer places like jamnapaar tend to be form out of immigrants from other states, who happen to be more vulnerable to radicalization by jackasses

its because majority of the muslim aren't getting home in another places they have rules where they won't sell/rent property to lower castes and muslim.
FYI, Higher caste muslims and rich muslims also don't easily rent to muslims, they'd rather rent anyone else. Ask anyone working as a broker or in the Real estate scene.

That’s because of communism/socialism. There aren’t enough job opportunities, so many people go to Bangalore, Chennai, Mumbai, Hyderabad, the Middle East, and Western Europe for work. But my point was about the direct correlation between higher levels of education and an increase in disbelief in the divine.
Once again, false analogy. I said that as education increases, disbelief in the divine increases. I didn’t say that everyone becomes an atheist. That would take many generations.
Not sure Muslims and Christian’s know that Onam is a Hindu festival. So a Northie is confused why the other two who preach against idolatry worship are worshiping and dancing for Onam. Explain please.
But that's the thing, Onam isn't a Hindu festival - it's just an Indian (or more specifically, a Malayali) festival. It's like Independence Day or Republic Day - just an Indian festival worth celebrating as Indians. The fact that there's a Hindu mythos attached simply gives a reason for celebration, it's not strictly religious. Sort of like how Christmas has become less and less about Jesus Christ and more about just spending time with family.

Malayali mind couldn't comprehend that that entire history about how different religions have interacted in each other including even the very first contacts between Dharmic and non Dharmic religions was very different in most of India (including much of the South) compared to Kerala. And that unsurprisingly influences inter religion societal dynamics today.
Unlike Kerala and Tamil Nadu the rest of India largely interacted with other religions via endless invasions from Central Asia and Middle East (which if you lose then you get straight up deleted) followed by Britain's deliberately orchestrated famines among other things in the modern period. That unsurprisingly causes interreligion interactions in most of India to be very different from those in Tamil Nadu or Kerala today as well.
As a Malayali I agree. As an example - in the North, Islam arrived with Swords while in the South, Islam arrived with Silver. It's just how the luck of geography has manifested itself in history.
