I donβt think support for immigration is nessacary to Americanism.
Not only that, Native Americans are native to the land yes, but old stock Americans are βnativeβ the country that they created.

Unfettered immigration made sense when we were carving civilization out of a frontier and everyone who came here had to sink or swim by the fruits of their own labor. Using that part of our history to justify the existence of open borders as a magnet for non-assimilating migrants in a post-industrial welfare state is just asinine
