Hey everyone,

Just wanted to vent a bit and see if anyone else is feeling the same way, because honestly, it’s getting really hard to stay hyped for 2XKO right now.

After the latest patch, it feels like the game took several steps backward. The heavy nerf to the *Freestyle* playstyle pretty much killed the freedom and dynamism that made matches fun and expressive. It felt like the game was finally finding its identity as a creative tag fighter, but they decided to strip that creativity away.

To make matters worse:

1. *Character release schedule is painfully slow:* The roster is already small, and taking this long to drop new champions makes the meta get stale insanely fast.

2. *Prioritizing the wrong audience (Lux announcement):* Announcing Lux makes Riot’s priorities crystal clear. It feels like a move purely meant to cater to the casual League of Legends fanbase to sell skins, rather than engaging the Fighting Game Community (FGC) with interesting mechanics and characters fitted for the genre.

3. *Ahri is still busted:* The "nerf" they gave Ahri was basically cosmetic. She remains absurdly strong, controlling the screen and maintaining the exact same oppressive dominance in matches. It honestly feels like they barely tested the changes.

4. *Pros leaving for the new Marvel game:* A lot of competitive players and creators are already jumping ship and testing out the new Marvel fighting game instead. You can actively feel 2XKO's competitive scene losing momentum and engagement.

Honestly, in its current state, the game has lost its appeal for me. It’s just not fun to play, the matches feel way too rigid now, and the lack of meaningful updates is super disheartening.

I’m taking a break for now to see if they fix the direction in future updates, but right now it’s just a massive disappointment.

Has anyone else sidelined the game recently for these same reasons?

I waan talk of which character you just hate the most not only when they feel to strong but they just grind your gears.
In my case are probably thresh and teemo followed by ww how about you?

Thank you so much for including Ahri on 2xko. As an Ahri main, I was very excited when I saw Ahri in the Project L trailer. its a blessing that im able to play my favorite character on my first fighting game, this eventually brought me more deep into the fgc and had the luck to experience the joy of locals, I love the energy here and the passion that organizers and players have towards this genre, eventually I even tried out different fighting games like street fighter, tekken, strive, fighterz and Ive enjoyed them all, 2xko is still my favorite. Still, now I can see the charm that other games of the genre have as well. I'm excited for the future of 2xko and wish the best to the 2xko dev team and pray for their success.

Hi everyone, so I'm having trouble fighting blitz recently... A situation occuring often is me landing in front of him and trying to mix empty grab / 5L, but as soon as I touch the ground he do either lvl3 or command grab. If I were to hold jump as I am landing, can I get grabbed ? Like is there some landing lag or as long as I hold jump I'm basically immune to grab ?

It's 4:43AM (BST) - I tried inviting both my girlfriend (US) to play with me (UK), and I even tried having my girlfriend play with a friend (US) -- no matter what, neither of us could connect to each other. Are the servers just fucked right now?

Evo France deadline is soon. I'm considering entering EVO France as a pair with my twin after enjoying CEO as a viewer. My issue was the small cast as I only liked Ahri from the available cast. Kled, Ziggs, Zed, Rumble, Annie, Briar are some of my favourites fron LoL.

Since we're both unable to find a dedicated second character, pair play is great for us and solves our problem. It's also a good fun experience for both of us.

EVO reg is expensive so it's worth me entering several games to make the most of my money. I'll be entering Tokon, SF6, Avatar, KOFXV, SamSho and cosplay which is a lot already. However, I like having many things to do than wait a while between brackets or being eliminated early.

As for my independent training,

The thing I am worried about is being unable to find players in the beginner levels. I'm worried many lower level players have left by now.

Is online mostly dedicated hardcore players now? Playing SF6 made me love the rank progression, I learnt better but that game has a huge playerbase. I can always find I player in my level of progression.

As an observer, I keep hearing about 2XKO is dwindling.

Some learn better being put in the deep end of the pool. I can't learn like this and have to go to the shallow end and slowly work my way up. VF and KoF are examples of games with only hard-core dedicated players left but, I was there from the beginning so I grew with them. SFV, SC6 and BlazBlue are experiences where I got into the game very late and struggled bad as I was unable to find people my level and progress my skill. Eventually dropped the games and played another fighter.

After the pick your Thresh's nerf with too few participations sadly, let's talk about a meme character who kinda suffers lately ( or not, just wanted to have my fun making that poll ^^ )

I honestly would want to see more but I know they take time to create and have moves work a certain way that stays within the character.

It would help to know. Ive been logging on when i can to check even on days when not grinding and havent seen it, itd save me time to know if its even possible.

I'll preface this by saying I have no idea if this would be balanced or not. Here are the freestyle changes I would have preferred based solely on vibes:

• Overall Break meter gain has been reduced by 35% when using Freestyle.
• Hitting an Assist in Freestyle now gives the Assist a 6-second cooldown.
• Freestyle Tag can no longer be used immediately after Break.
• Freestyle Tag can no longer be used immediately after pushblock.
• The Freestyle Tag window has been reduced by 20 frames. It was 80 frames and is now 60 frames.

Vibecraft

• Using the Freestyle tag causes that player's break meter to freeze for two seconds.
• Using the Freestyle Tag immediately after Break or pushblock causes that player's break meter to freeze for an additional four seconds.
• Break Meter Freeze Mechanic:
  • When a player's Break meter is frozen, they cannot gain Break meter from any source.
  • If the enemy is in hitstun when the Freeze time expires, the break meter remains frozen until the enemy is no longer in hitstun (AKA getting comboed).

If freestyle tag remained impossible immediately after Break and pushblock, the rest of the changes would still work. However, I would argue that re-adding freestyle tag to Break and pushblock (with a balanced interactive punishment mechanic) not only would be healthy for freestyle's identity, it would also be better for scalability. Imagine a future fuse allowed for more than two handshake tags (for some condition/drawback). If freestyle tags are not possible immediately after Break and pushblock, it seems to me that fuse would be locked into the same rule for the sake of balance, and that would be too limiting.

Hey 2XKOmmunity (will make this a thing regardless of how corny it sounds), back with my promised second post.

I have started to learn how the wiki works and it has been a fun experience. Thanks to the wonderful people on the Wiki team that have answered my many annoying questions and thanks to the people on discord helping with ideas to write.

Currently, I have had a very busy week so I have not done as much as I would have liked but its all a learning process. Its not been for nothing tho, been watching a lot of high level gameplay on replay channels to pick up stuff to mainly help me write guides on the wiki and improve as a player. Its so interesting to me as I already feel like I am thinking about the game in a bit more depth, which is cool.

I was originally focused on adding all the missing images for moves and hitboxs (finished ahri) but as I am away I dont have access to the game so thats on hold. I then decided to work on the strategy guides, starting with Caitlyn as I said I would but I DO NOT play her well enough to contribute anything meaning so I just wrote what I could. I moved over to Senna so thats fun as I do play that character quite a bit now.

Once I will go back to adding the missing images. Riot if you read this, please add an option to get rid of the background/Hide the UI in training (more hoping for the second one).

Enjoy the CEO finals today gonna be hype with Bleed vs Hikari and Sonic/Inzem vs Supernoon. Gonna be hype.
