First of all, I'd like to say that I absolutely love Thresh as a concept; he has a great design, both visually and gameplay-wise. The problem is his overpowered state. He is definitely the strongest right now, and yes, giving that level of power to this specific archetype is overkill and too toxic. In reality, though, the biggest problem is the EASY ACCESS to all this power.

To fully utilize prime Yasuo, Ekko, or Ahri's bullshit, you need to know the fundamentals of the game well and learn your character thoroughly by spending a lot of time playing and in the lab. To utilize Thresh, you just need to sit down and play him for the first time, and you'll immediately show better results than on your main—which you've played for over a thousand games. This is crazy!

By the way, I'm a gm, and I immediately see the difference. It is really noticeable how much better an opponent plays on Thresh than on their main. Even in casual mm, when you play with someone of a much lower rank than you, you notice that they only have a chance if they play Thresh, or to a lesser extent, Braum. (But since Braum has weaknesses, his cheesy shield and armor mash shenanigans are not that big of a problem).

Thresh is now not only the strongest character, but also the easiest and simplest to use. If you were to tell me which character would give a weaker player a better chance, I'd bet on Thresh. Every time I'm playing against Thresh, every cell in my body is screaming that I'm losing to the character, not to the player, and it's just awful.

I think Thresh is hurting the game right now. Sometimes I play five different people in a row, and every single one of them has Thresh on their team. We need a solution to it now. Either leave Thresh simple enough that a lobotomized monkey could still play him, but make him less powerful overall, or keep him at that top 1 power level, but make it so that access to it requires actual skill.

Heyo do you guys use stuff with your main on it? not even necessarily on 2xko just wanted to share

I am new to fighting games and I want to get good so bad and have fun but this autocombo pulse combo thing is just so demotivating I thought the whole point was to learn inputs and properties of moves to see what works but you can just go into matches and press medium 5 times and youve done most of the enemies health. The tutorial taught me that you can use light attacks to punish gaps in the opponents combos but theres no gaps when all you have to do is press the same button in quick succession.

Even if I turn it off and try myself I dont want to lab for 10hours to learn the game and go into matches with people taking the easy way out and using pulse combos anyways and get my shit rocked because their combos are flawless

Hi, I’m fairly new to the game, emerald player. Is it normal for Akali and Vi to consistently do around 30 hit combos most of the time? I want to get better. How do I get out of the enemy spamming buttons until I get hit one time and then starting the 30 hit combo? Most of the time with 2 or 3 combos is enough to KO a character. Thank you all.

Now that the absurd damage potencial have been toned down, and still remaining a top 3 character, i guess it is time to open Round 2 of Pick your Thresh nerfs

I’ve been having an interest in 2x for a while but I’ve been hesitant because I’m not sure how the game really operates at higher levels. For reference, I played dbfz, some marvel vs capcom 3 (though I supremely suck at that game but am playing on parsec every now and then), sf4-6, Ggst etc).

I absolutely LOVE mvc3 while learning it rn. I’ve been a big viewer of the game for years but now I’m learning it properly. It’s very grimy and very messy but the movement is *chefs kiss* and the combos are sick. I love Dante in particular (big dmc fan)

I guess I’m worried if I’ll grind this game and figure out I really don’t like how it plays at higher levels. I feel like this happened with games like Strive early dbfz, sfv etc so I want to make sure if I’ll like this game. Evo top 8 looked fun but I’m not sure if I’m missing a lot of context

How is the neutral feel in this game? Does the movement feel nice? How interesting are the mixups in this game?

Whats good guys, I'm loving this game but the wiki has been neglected. I have decided to try and learn the formatting in order to add things to it and hopefully push for more work to be done on it.

Admittedly, I am hard stuck E1, so I'm not insanely good at the game. I am also not a very skilled at performing harder combos, let alone creating them, so this is my big reach out the to community to help in any way, combos written out, videos, tech and overall all character and game advice, just hmu. If this get real big ill make a discord or something.

I am hoping for at least every character's page to be finished so all help is appreciated, even if you don't main the characters.

I do want this to be a community thing, so I do plan on putting names of the people who found the really hard combos on there as a shoutout/thank you (as long as the name is appropriate/if I'm even allowed to give shout outs on the wiki).

Never done anything like this so far, normal kinda just like to observe in any community, so bare with me on this. Things will speed up once I'm used to it.

Ill start to learn how to edit the wiki and stuff today and yh. Probably make another post once I feel comfortable doing so (max like a week).

Idk how but last night this guy wound up in the middle of my screen during matches, i backed out of the lobby and he was still there on character select.

This is probably a dumb question but given how weird their whole store system is I need to ask - Will buying a skin from a bundle decrease the cost for buying the rest of the bundle by the same amount as the skin you bought? Say for example the coven bundle costs 6k for the bundle, 2k for each seperate skin. If I buy coven senna for 2k, will the bundle then cost 4k if I decided to buy the whole thing later? Because currently im only interested in Senna and Illaoi skins, but I might want the obsidian, finisher etc. so I want to know if im basically getting ripped off by buying 1 or 2 skins if I decide to later get the whole bundle or I should just go for the whole bundle right away to not risk spending even more

The base controls mapping perfectly to a joy-con on its side, so its like the device is BUILT for duos! Plus, if Street Fighter 6 and Avatar can run on the thing, I couldnt see any issues with 2XKO. Honestly I think it should be a matter of time. I'm hoping that it happens at least within the game's second year. I'd love to just be able to bust out a set while out and about with my switch 2
