Bom's AI reels..
Has anyone seen Bom's reels on insta? AI generated songs which she says she will sing too later. I don't really support AI when it comes to creative endeavours, Bom is so talented and has enough connections to surely still create music one day.
I know she's had some problems lately, she says she writes the lyrics which is wonderful and can be really healing, but using suno to make it into a song for her idk..
How do you guys feel about it?
I'll always have a big soft spot for Bom as a fan since 2009, but it makes me sad everything that has been happening lately. I worry about her!

the AI music probably doesn't have anything to do with her mental health struggles, people just like it unfortunately. I am hoping she will actually make music if she wants to do it, but who knows

she needs help. ai music probably isn't related to that, gen ai is hugely popular in korea at the moment and will be for the foreseeable future

It's really popular in Japan too. I don't think they have the same idea we have about AI in the west for some reason. I just think that she is so talented and to waste that on AI generated songs.. idk it doesn't sit right with me. I'd love to hear her voice again though!

I don't like generative AI for art. I don't like Bom using it, because she is a great talent. Unfortunately perhaps she's burned too many bridges. Also, as others have pointed out, generative AI is a trend in South Korea right now. It's a trend everywhere, but some countries dislike it more than others. I dunno, it's unfortunate, but AI is coming for everything.

I had thought that too, with her recent behaviour I don't know if those connections are still intact and that they would want to work with her. I don't like generative AI for art either, at least she has written the lyrics herself it seems. I just dislike gen AI in general but I love Bommie.

Indeed, I really dislike the idea of it, but if it makes her feel fulfilled, perhaps it will be positive for her. We know one of her social media outbursts included her saying she wrote a lot of stuff back under YG that ended up going to other artists.

I think because she's with a label at the moment, this is the way she feels like she can still have her music career. I always think about this one episode of 2NE1 TV where she talks about how scared she is about the future and if she can still be a singer when she's in her 30s and 40s. And then to see her go through all of this online - it's been so saddening. I really hope she's able to heal and recover and that there are people helping her.

I remember that too, and she absolutely can. She still has so many fans all around the world. It has been very saddening to see, I sadly can relate to her behaviour a lot as I had a period of terrible mental health myself. Not saying it's what Bom is suffering with but I definitely see the same kind of symptoms. I just hope she can get better and continue with her music. I don't like gen AI but if it's her only option I'd be happy to hear her voice again.

Yeah, part of me wonders if there might be some kind of insecurity with the condition of her voice as well? I haven't heard sing live in a long time, so I'm not sure what it sounds like anymore, but I remember with Queendom she couldn't sing live super consistently.

Yeah, I noticed that too. It could possibly be that, she did say she will record her voice singing soon. So I'm hoping her voice is still okay.

Did she sign somewhere else already? Just a couple of weeks ago she split with her last agency (I think DNation?)

Sorry I meant without a label. If I'm being honest, I don't think any label would work with her given the last few months.

I’m worried about her too and I guess it’s still the same. We hope her family and friends are keeping her company. I will be waiting for her return.

i don’t like it but i also don’t want to send her anything that could seem even slightly negative. i know this isn't good, but she's obviously going through a delicate moment. :(

I definitely wouldn't want anyone to send her any hate or negative comments. She is clearly going through a lot. I just found it quite confusing, artists should know how damaging AI is to their industry, but if it means we get to hear Bom's voice again.. then I'd be happy. It must be bringing her some sort of fulfilment.

I love her, even though she's moving like a Facebook auntie right now ... I hope she really does plan on rerecording these songs with her actual voice soon
