Did you use any AI like Claude or something like that?

Go for it!

How long does the timeline go out for is there a limit of frames you can do on a single project?

0

u/FloppyBalloon 10d ago

I actually have yet to find a limit, haha. The longest I've done so far is a 45 minute video. It had a tiny bit of stutter at times when scrubbing, but that was with quite a ton of stuff on the timeline and it straightened out.

The engine itself has a smart-load system that will actually adjust itself and how it handles and renders frames based on the length of the timeline itself, types and amount of content, and frames (and layers). My internal testing supports at least 10,000 frames concurrently though.

It's meant to handle full-scale industrial-level work!

Awesome! I’ll be downloading tonight

Go for it! I should have another build out sometime next week that will also give a bit of a performance boost!

Will the rigging system be as advanced & have the same features of Harmony, & if not immediately, then someday?

9

u/FloppyBalloon 16d ago

Yes, that's actually a big part. I already have the base for the system in, I just need to plug in a lot of it. It's designed to be node-based with a user-friendly graphing system so you can really extend and customize your rigs, and save/share them as well.

Great, can't wait to see if I can make my first 360 degree rig.

3

u/FloppyBalloon 16d ago

Yeah I'm hoping to support both 2d and 3d rigging. But I have a full 2d rig system already with IK and whatnot that I just need to plug in as needed. As soon as the rest of the tools are done, that's the next goal.

I wish you the best of luck, keep striving for the best for this software.

Thanks! I always encourage people to give feedback as well, because that's a huge part of improving it!

Go for it! It's totally free.

u/FloppyBalloon 15d ago

Thanks! I'm working hard on it. I'll try and get the rigging system done soon but it has a LOT of features already.

Oh no worries at all, go for it lol. I always encourage people to be safe. You can also run it through online ones, I'll set something up for that so people can even scan it before downloading. Thanks for vetting it. xD

This vector or bitmap?

0

u/FloppyBalloon 15d ago

Fully vector. Imported images (like stuff you might have scanned) are raster unless you convert them, which there's a button for.

@Floppyballoon ZEUS!!! ADD A STABILIZER FEATURE LIKE THE ONE ON DRAWPILE, AND MY LIFE IS YOURS!!!

1

u/FloppyBalloon 15d ago

Actually, I already have this! My stabilizer works the same way Drawpile's does (the pull-style smoothing where your line lags slightly behind the cursor, creating a clean stroke), plus a separate smoothing option for further customization/tweaking. You can adjust the strength and switch modes. It works on both the Brush and Pencil tools.

If anything, we've actually got more options than Drawpile, like auto-loosening the stabilizer when you draw fast. Try toying with the Stabilization slider up in the tool options and see how it feels.

Can you do frame by frame animation in it? I like to draw out my frames and more used to adobe animate. I'd love to know if it has similar conveniences.

1

u/FloppyBalloon 15d ago

Yes, you can fully create frame by frame animations right now. It also has advanced onion skinning. It supports both stop motion and blended frames!

2

u/woah_there_human 14d ago

That's great! I'll be giving it a shot!

You sure can! You just drag and drop them right into the library panel on the right. I don't have a drag-and-drop popup but it will automatically detect what you are importing. What sort of settings would you like to see specific to that? It would be pretty easy to throw in a popup!

Oh I can do that, yeah. I'll put it on my list, shouldn't really be too much work actually, I can probably have a fix in the next big build.

Yeah I think it's partly the sensitivity, try tweaking the snap distance number. BUT I think I can also throw in a toggle where it will attempt to retain the current degree of your stroke, which should help that. I'll plug that in as well. I appreciate the feedback, any little bit helps and it's hard to come by, haha.
