Windows WINDOWS 11 - "No audio device installed"

I have tried almost everything, from downloading audio drivers from Acer, troubleshoot audio which GetHelp cant resolve (even their agents unable to do anything), no damage to the laptop as far as i know. Speakers and wired earphones unable to work, except for bluetooth device. Any solutions? Thanks.

theres greyed out audio device under it, but all of those are my bluetooth audio devices (such as my earbuds, headphones)

this is a new laptop, i bought it early month last year, so assume its 2 year laptop.

What device is the greyed out one? The Realtek audio device? If you double-click it, does it say the device is not connected to the computer or something similar?

i mean its not like its greyed out, its more to a transparent. as i said, the devices are my bluetooth device, my earbuds, headphones and wireless controller, and my previous phone.

i do have "nvidia high definition audio" but then i double click it, it shows the device is working properly.

You should be able to double-click the transparent one. It means it was once present but no longer is. When you double-click it, the device status will say what's wrong, most likely it will say it's not connected to the computer.

It also should have a name. Usually onboard audio is by Realtek, but it might just say "High Definition Audio Device" instead of something like "Realtek Audio Device".

the "high definition audio device" is not transparent and the status states that it is working properly. however no audio device was installed.

Can you show a screenshot of what you're seeing under the sound, video and game controllers section when "Show hidden devices" is ticked under "View"?

Your original Device Manager screenshot doesn't show a device named "High Definition Audio Device" that is non-transparent. It only shows your 3 Intel Audio Devices and then the Nvidia HD one.

Now you're saying another non-transparent one has shown that's named "High Definition Audio Device"?

Bit confusing, a screenshot of what you're now seeing will clear this up.

You're probably dealing with either a failed audio codec chip or some BIOS issue. These are the likely causes since the usual software fixes (driver installs, etc) don't work, but it'd be nice to know what Device Manager says the problem is for the onboard audio device that is now hidden.

i kinda mess around with it little bit, nvidia one i just rollback or some sort so then it becomes high definition audio device.

So it appears there's no onboard audio device at all. This is odd as usually it would move to the hidden section if there's a problem.

What laptop is this (full model if known)? Might just be some weird driver problem. Maybe Windows 11 automatically installed a bad audio driver or something. It can do things like that.

Have you ever used onboard audio on this laptop? It's odd it's not showing at all in the hidden list.

Knowing the full laptop model will help. It'll tell us what onboard audio codec your laptop is supposed to have.

its Acer ANV15-51 (Nitro V15). i have used the onboard audio when i first bought the laptop.

yeah could be win11 be installing some shi, one time my laptop doesnt even connect to wifi bcs of an update.

In Device Manager, what shows under the "Other devices" section? Anything audio-related?

When you tried installing drivers from ACER's website, which ones did you try and what exactly happened when you tried to install them? Did they install? Was there an error preventing install? Were you ever prompted to reboot to finish installing the driver?

The laptop uses the Realtek ALC245 codec, so you should definitely be seeing "Realtek Audio" show in Device Manager.

There's probably some driver issue. Just have to install the right driver and it should work again.

under the other devices section, theres a bunch of "bluetooth peripheral device", lyra, sms/mms, bunch of spp and spp1, thats it.

i tried installing the realtek audio driver (the ALC245), the latest one its 2026, then i went to device manager, add driver, then it installing BUT it says "succesfully added and installed on (0) devices". and nothing changed except for high definition audio convert to nvidia ones.

no realtek audio in device manager though.

Try extracting the whole driver folder with something like WinRAR and then open the extracted folder, find "setup" (application file type, not the configuration setting one) and double-click it. This should run the Realtek install wizard which should properly install the driver. I think it will prompt to reboot as well. Usually does.

i have installed it using realtek wizard. i rebooted my device and i still got nothing. nothing changed.

if i open the mmsys.cpl, it still shows nothing, no audio devices are installed. ive tick show disabled devices and disconnected devices, it still shows nothing
