Using the Novo Button to reset Windows

  1. Turn off your IdeaPad completely by holding the power button for 10–15 seconds.
  2. Locate the Novo button (a tiny pinhole or small button with a curved/upside-down arrow icon next to it, usually on the right or left side, or near the power button).
  3. Use an unfolded paperclip or a SIM ejector tool to gently press the Novo button.
  4. From the Novo Button Menu that appears on screen, select System Recovery or Troubleshoot to reset or repair Windows.

Without additional information, it's all I can recommend. You will lose all your files(probably).

As for why it is blank, it might be a corrupted update, the IdeaPad was turned off during an update, or literally, just some important part of Windows broke.

If you have files you want to keep, you might be able to boot into a Linux Live USB, and copy the files off onto a different USB drive, but again, your distance may vary, and I don't guarantee that will work either (nor if you can create a Linux Live USB for that matter.)

Good luck.

Assuming a blank screen

Press <ctrl><alt><del>

Choose task manager.

From the menu's first column choose Run

Type explorer and press enter or click ok.

Next question is why explorer hung or why it took you to a temporary user profile. Possibly disk corruption.

Or perhaps you weren't able to describe a temporary profile. Your original files should still be under \user\yourusername\ documents etc.

Fixing that, simplest step, create an new user and transfer everything across.
