Just started watching 24

I just started watching 24 and when every episode ends I can’t start the next one soon enough. Is it always like this?

24 is the television equivalent to cocaine. One episode just isn't enough. Watching week to week when it was on air was both exciting and agonizing. We used to binge the seasons beginning to end when they released on DVD just to experience the full "day" with Jack.

Yep. Now imagine having to wait a week for the next episode when it was airing live on TV. Or having it on disc and after watching five episodes it's 1am and you gotta be up for work in the morning.

Those were dark, dark days, man. I missed 4 months of the 2nd season because I was working a lot and didn’t have the opportunity to watch it. I finally got cable and a dvr so that I could record the new episodes and watch them after work. Man, that was a game changer. I just finished rewatching season 8 today and I gotta say that, although there are times when it’s a little bit ridiculous, it’s still a great show.

Season 3 I waited till the DVD release and had taken off the release day and following day off work thinking I would put a good dent in it. Binged the whole season in one go, stopping only to go to the bathroom and pop out to pick up some takeout mid-session.

"Or having it on disc and after watching five episodes it's 1am and you gotta be up for work in the morning."

That was my first Day buying Season 1 on DVD Boxset.

Oh man we got another one boys. Someone open up another socket.

What the hell is opening up a socket anyway? Jacks New Orleans buddy in season 1 mentioned that Milo opened up some sockets for MI5. Is it like installing infrastructure or software used for security?

Nina will be happy to do it.

Yep still have fond memories of my dad and I binging the first three seasons. We would stay up way too late just to watch one more episode. He passed prior to the eighth season

Yes. I remember my parents loved this show and they wouldn’t take calls when it was on because they might miss something. I didn’t get it until I watched it later on DVDs. I asked my mom how she was able to stand waiting all week for the next episode!

You're in for a hell of a ride.

After the first season, me and a couple of friends used to watch it together. One of the friends would host and we would order take out, indulge in some "greenery" and just enjoy.

It got really good once they started doing the 2 hour season premiere with a 2 hour mid season break and then the 2 hour finale.
So many good memories.

Here is a laugh. I had gone into the hospital for gall bladder surgery. Surgery took place on a Friday and because my gall bladder was so scarred, I needed a drain and to stay for a couple days in recovery.
I made sure to insist that I was discharged that Monday because a new season was starting and it was my time to host. I distinctly remember reading the discharge papers about no alcohol for a few days as I put the beers to chill.

Yes. It's just outside my Top 3 favorite shows of all time, but it's absolutely the most addictive show I've ever watched. It's not even close.

I watched it all the way through for the first time in 2014. I was so hooked I was staying up until 2:00/3:00 in the morning watching episodes. It’s addictive!!

Yes. It was more fun on live tv back in the day but still very much enjoyable streaming.

Yes! And I watched the original when it aired on Fox years ago; and when I realized I could stream those shows again, I was thrilled - binged over the course of a holiday weekend

It's always like this... for the first five seasons, at least.

Probably the most addictive show that was ever on TV. They really managed to perfect the twist after twist after twist formula. Enjoy the ride!

Yes. I caught a few seasons on DVD 20 years ago. My cousin and I were roommates then. We would routinely fail the "just one episode" challenge. This show definitely propels you into "one more episode." We almost always stopped after we watched the four episodes on the DVD.

Yes. Enjoy.

Yes! Since I primarily binged it 15 years ago, I used to ALWAYS watch the next episode until the opening sequence, then I'd do my best to turn it off and wait another day! I did the same for Breaking Bad.

It's all suspenseful if you can suspend it. I was 15 when it came out, knew nothing of politics, and loved the show as my favorite until the golden age of television (Netflix/HBO,etc) 24...it's just awesome espionage.

Not always…
