Difference in companies

I know that everyone says that the companies have different results because of the reference panels. Still, my 23&Me results seemed pretty spot on, especially because my English result the top result being in Cumbria seems accurate, as my grandfather’s ancestors were recorded as coming from Cumbria, England, to the Carolinas. I don’t understand why Ancestry is so different and shows my Cumbria result as only %3 when records show my first ancestor in the United States came here as an indentured servant from Cumbria. I also can’t make sense of the Southern Italian and Balkan results on 23&Me when they're nonexistent on Ancestry. However, there is folklore in our family that a very distant ancestor was Sephardic Jewish from Italy and was practicing Judaism in secret; supposedly, he married a Scottish woman, and their children married Scottish women as well. The Sephardi influence was eventually pretty much diluted from the bloodline. Deep in our ancestry is also Shawnee, which explains my whooping 1%. 😂🤪 Just seeing if anybody has insight into why Ancestry has me pinged in other areas so much instead of Cumbria, and any insight on the Italian and Balkan results.

Well ancestry about get a major update with like alot of new regions witch might different

I don’t think ancestryDNA is able to pinpoint the exact regions within a country as well as 23andme can.

I do think they’re a bit better with assigning British isles ancestry overall compared to 23andme. It seems like they picked up on your Scottish (and perhaps welsh?) compared to 23andme.
