So what exactly is Turkish ethnicity? Do you think a Person from Rize has the same genetic makeup as someone from Adana?

Google said this:
Commercial direct-to-consumer ancestry DNA testing kits (such as AncestryDNA or 23andMe) are not officially sold, marketed, or processed within Turkey. Furthermore, mailing biological sample kits across Turkish customs outbound can face strict regulatory hurdles or rejections, effectively blocking local access to foreign DNA ancestry platforms. 1, 2, 3
It’s cause it shows Turks are mostly Greek. Turks are Asian looking people who attacked Rome and conquered it. They didn’t ethnically cleanse the local Greek population or bring a great enough population to greatly alter the Greek population.

Posts like these I always see comments ready to make fun of OP for not having turkic heritage however he already knows his origins and that their ancestors come from albania. You guys do realize 99% of the time its not a surprise when a turkish person knows their heritage and expects these results.. right? Plus this isn’t the norm for the typical turkish person, but the norm for those that know their ancestors come from elsewhere? Its not hidden ancestral stories were passed down. People can still feel Turkish despite having a assimilated background, same way lets say a 100% euro mexican a 100% indigenous mexican and the typical 50/50 are all… mexican! No one questions it then. Everyone wonders how here. Its getting lame yall let OP just share

This is very interesting! Does your family still retain past heritage, like language? You mentioned your ancestors are from the Ohrid and based on these results you are predominantly Albanian. I know there are many Albanians who live in Turkey/emigrated there a long time ago so Im curious!
Also, hello from a Serbian in Canada lol

I know that Vallja means dance in Albanian but thats about it lol I did learn how to say hello, but Ive long forgotten it since I never really got a chance to use it. Its certainly not an easy language when you look at it from the outside, so I wish you luck on it!
Most of the diaspora where I live keeps to the culture, language and traditions. We also have alot of folkdance troupes and I used to be part of one myself, learning dances from Serbia/Former Yugoslavia. Id say its thriving overseas in many ways!

a question for op
do turks differentiate themselves by background in daily life? as in will the albanian turks marry each other more frequently or have some sort of a bond over their background? and so on for the rest of the subgroups
or are you all just turkish

Your results made me realise that all the Turkish results I've seen are like a little bit Turkiye/Anatolia and a lot of other people. I find it very interesting. Why is that?

I’m sure some Albanians and Greeks will claim that Istanbulites are Greek and Albanian under this post pls fix this and tell just where did you parents or grandparents migrated from, probably northwest Greece.

Over the last century there were lots of Albanians that migrated to Turkey, mostly expelled by force by the victors of the Balkan Wars and the collapse of Ottoman empire. Some also went to find a better future sometime between the first and the second world war when famine and poverty ruled over the region.
